We've had the refrigerator for a month now and are pleased with the performance. We already had the GE Profile oven, microwave and dishwasher (5 years now) and those have been problem free. We reviewed this model in Consumer Reports and it had a good rating.
The refrigerator overall is a bit noisier than our last one but not overwhelmingly so. When the left hand door is closed, it's noisy as the plastic panel slides into place, IF you close the door hard. I finally figured out we don't have to slam that door! We require the counter depth so are used to slightly less space . Love the lighting inside...it's so bright and easy to find whatever we need with the LED lights. And same is true for bottom mount freezer. If you keep things organized, you only need to open one door to take something out unless you need to get into the meat/deli keeper, in which case you need to open both doors. The water dispenser is great and has plenty of room for a very tall glass or pitcher. You need to put your glass right up underneath the ice dispenser, tho, because ice comes out really fast and sometimes overshoots the container. It's easy to keep the stainless steel clean exterior and is a good looking addition in our kitchen.

First Day Disappointment

Water keeps dripping after filling a glass and splashes down on my hardwood floor. No dairy bin! How do you make a refrigerator in the 21st century with no place to put butter and margarine. So disappointed.

UNlit Door Display FRUSTRATING

First thing I noticed was that the digital display screen is extremely difficult to read even in broad daylight and IMPOSSIBLE to read at night. The lettering is light gray on a darker gray background with NO back light to illuminate words (cubed, crushed, water). Every time I use the ice & water dispenser I get annoyed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Slate color... WOW! Great Features

The slate color looks so high-end. Easy to keep clean - no problem with fingerprints and I think I've seen too much of stainless steel appliances. I couldn't be happier. Now, to those that mention the compressor noise... well, yes it's much louder than my 15 year-old fridge - which I don't think I ever heard running. It makes different noises depending on if it's in turbo cool mode or just maintaining the temp. Most of the time I don't notice anything due to the fact that the TV is on or the family is just talking. But if it's quiet in the house and it happens to be running you'll most definitely hear it. Of course it's not running all the time. But if you really like quiet, then you might pass on this one.

HAVE ONLY HAD THESE ABOUT 1 WEEK. Before Christmas, I purchased an entire suite of a competitor's stainless steel appliances and had them delivered and installed. I was very unhappy with the way they looked so in January I returned to the store and made arrangements to have them removed and replaced with GE. Seeing the GE in the kitchen changed my entire demeanor. Now, the appliances are attractive and have a quality look. I am so happy and pleased. Of course, I will remain positive that they will perform well for many many years.

Great finish, but loud.

I am not a fan of stainless steel appliance, but wanted to update my white appliances. This slate finish is beautiful! I love it! The inside of the refrigerator is spacious and there are lots of options for moving the shelves. The lighting is great. The only drawbacks - there is no butter keeper for the door and it runs much louder than the 20 year old GE that it replaced.
I would recommend this to a friend!
