Great fridge

I like the color, the doors, the compartments but it does show finger prints on the door handles and when the water feature drips it leaves spots on the plate under the water feature. have a sponge there

Run-A-Way Control Panel

I purchased all new GE slate appliances. The counter depth GE GYE22 had a thru door drinking water dripping problem fixed by a service call and an additional hose kit. Now it has a run-a-way control panel changing temps on the freezer and refrigerator up and down the temp range constantly. Again maybe fixable by a service call and a software update. The point is GE knows about these problems and has not recalled these products. My problem is two fold first I like the slate finish, but only GE makes it and I can not just change out one appliance. Second should I purchase the extended warranty. I think GE should extend the warranty...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome refrigerator

I love my new refrigerator it is large and spacious. While it was a floor model it is still excellent. I purchased a floor model and when first plugged in all the lights worked but it wasn't cooling. With a google search I found that it was in demo mode and needed to have a combo of buttons pushed to turn off. Once I did we were cool pretty quickly. I have the slate and fingerprints are not a problem
The extra nice features are the door alarm, panel lockout, and its really quiet! I wasn't sure about the bottom freezer but I really like it. The freezer drawers allow for good organization and the door bins are perfect for small things. I was really worried as it comes with a bracket due to the size. I did not want to install since I am having my kitchen redone in the next year but the bracket is not a big deal. The appliance moves easily although quite large.
The refrigerator compartment has lots of space and the door shelves hold lots of stuff. Its a little tricky to open the filter compartment and remove the filter but once you figure out its quick to install and remove. I would of liked to see the shelf that goes in half go back a little further but I keep most large bottles of milk and juice on the door anyway. The door with the ice maker is nice for those bottles of sauces and condiments. The drawers are a pretty good size although you won't fit all your potatoes in one veggie drawer. The temperature controls on the door and the drawer is really nice

Within two months of installation, both motherboards had to be replaced because the refrigerator would put itself in Sabbath mode. Now a couple of years later it cools unevenly. Nice features, but unreliable.

Replacement fridge

I got this to replace a side by side. I like the width of the opening and the drawers in the fridge. This will come in handy for larger/wider platters. It got cold very quickly and is very quite. I really wanted the Profile that is on backorder.

Awesome!! The counter depth is fantastic!! Better than I imagined. I love the slate, it is great with white/antiqued cabinets. I got brown/gray/white granite and with the slate it is beautiful!! The features are amazing. A lot more room than you would think in a counter depth.

I bought this about a month ago to replace 14 year old Kitchenaide. I couldn't be more happy with the features and functions available on this refrigerator. Especially to interior lighting along with the capacity of the freezer.

We can hear this fridge from across the house. Way to loud. My old 20 year old fridge made no noise while running.
