Love the freezer on the bottom!

The slate finish is exquisite!! It’s sophisticated yet casual, blends with any color you put with it and doesn’t show smudges or fingerprints - so it always looks nice. :0)
We’ve had ours for a while now and it’s amazing!! :o)
I especially like the extra temperature controls that are available within the refrigerator compartment AND how easy it is to adjust both the fridge and freezer temperatures on the front control panel!!
Definitely a great purchase that we recommend to all of our friends and family.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lots of issues

Runs loudly, cooling GM fan freezes, now leaking water. Bought 5yrs ago 2015. Won’t buy GE again.

Leaks water on floor every couple months

Overall the fridge is good with one huge exception, the thaw cycle works poorly. The result is ice builds up on bottom of the freezer drawer housing and then leaks out onto the floor. It’s pretty much destroyed the solid hickory floor just behind the front of the fridge. I’ve even done the hot mod, where you take a thick copper wire and hook it around the defrost heater and have it protrude down the drain hole. Still didn’t work. Overall, I would never buy another GE appliance because if this refrigerator. One more crappy feature is the water filter! You have to buy the overpriced GE filter or it won’t work. Unless you take rfid tag from the GE filter and tape it in the exact location on the aftermarket filter, then it works. But it will tell you the filter needs to be replaced.

Poor quality. Lots of repairs needed in first 4 years and it constantly leaks from underneath. Do not buy!
