Frequent Updates Required

I've had this Blu-ray player for about 10 months now, and in that time I had to update the software3 or 4 times, and am waiting for another update so I can watch a standard DVD copy of Transformers. At this time when I put this disk in the player (it's only this movie, every copy of it I tried acts the same), the player turns itself off. I'm not sure what the other updates have done for me, but until this one I would have said the player operated flawlessly. This issue does concern me, I have other players, never had to update their software, never had any problems like this.
Pros: easy to use, Features/Settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

More Practical Than I Expected!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't know how much I would enjoy having a Sidekick until I got one. I love it. The hand wash only clothes, sweaters, and delicates are no longer wiating and waiting until I have a full load of them to be laundered. Now 1 or 2 items and I pop them in the Sidekick and they are done in no time.
Pros: ease of use

My first ever Blue-Ray player and have had nothing but praise for this equipment. Wi-Fi built -in is just great. The apps are a plus. Sometimes it is hard to choose between, VUDU on the player or the TV, have to toss a coin! LOL!!. Great all the same. Best investment I have made in a very long time.

first Blu-Ray

This is the first Blu-ray disk reader I have. I can NOT see much difference of the picture on my older HD-DVD player with the older dvd disks vs the Blu-ray disks. I won't buy blu-ray disks until the prices come down a LOT. The other stuff works very good like Netflix etc. I'm not knocking it, but the blu-ray does not 'blow my socks' off as I thought. BTW, make sure you get ALL the flashing upgrades are availablel.

I have been putting off buying a Blue Ray player for a while because I had heard the setup was quite involved. After reading reviews on the BD570, I went out and purchased one and I am very pleased to state the setup was a snap. I had it installed and setup to my wireless network in about 20 minutes. The picture quality is awesome and I love being able to download my netflix movies. This is a great product as a great price. I will definitely look at LG in the future when I buy or upgrade my electronics.
