Great Warranty Returns
on September 26, 2010

My warranty return was completed very quickly. Received repaired unit within two weeks after it leaving my house (maybe as short as one week).
Face plate has broken off and become detached on two of my units so far. It is very delicate and I will only use the remote to open it.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am super impressed with the friendliness of the uses of this player with the exception of using Homelink. It was difficult to find the Common Internet File System (CIFS) Sign In information as I had to search the Internet for users who have had the same problem. The owners manual is VERY weak in providing information about using Homelink (I am still not sure I know how to use it).
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Blu-ray Set

Only criticism-you must install Nero Mediahome to access your computer and Netflix.
Got sucked in with a big box brand and was totally disappointed with connectivity capability and overall performance. Purchased the BD570 for my sister in Fl. and was blown away by the difference in all categories. As a result purchased a BD570 for myself and am totally pleased by my decision.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, ease of installation, perception of value
I would recommend this to a friend!

With the exception of the Nero software, I would give this fantastic product a 10+.
Setup wireless in less than 5 minutes - thanks for a great product.

Terrible first experience

Bought this along with an LG 50PK550 plasma. My experiences with the two products couldn't be more different. First, the BD570 has a great feature set and you can update the firmware over the 'net so you don't need to download the firmware yourself and put it on a USB drive. Ok, that pretty much sums up the positives.
Look, I appreciate bells and whistles as much as the next guy but when I buy a product with base functionality (i.e. cell phone), I expect the base feature to work flawlessly. A cell phone that drops calls isn't worth anything no matter how cool the web browser is, for example. Well, this dang player just stinks at playing discs. Specifically, it has a known issue with Toy Story 3 where it will jump from the middle of a chapter to the start of the next chapter. I tried updating the firmware to the latest and it still has the issue. Keep in mind, this is not limited to TS3.... there are a number of other discs that this player just WILL NOT PLAY PROPERLY. Check using Google for more info.
Thankfully, I have 30 days from purchase to return it for a full refund. I'll wait another week to see if there is a fw update, but if it doesn't play a key BR disc that I own, then it's going back.
Pros: did not catch on fire
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Came with more features than I thought and was easy to setup and to use. Worth the little bit extra money to have the WIFI capabilities. The WiFi makes it easier to setup and works great with all my computers. Loved that all the movie providers, Picasa, You Tube, etc. were already on the device and just needed to be activated.
The only complaint I have is that the L, R, U, D buttons on the remote control would be easier to use if they were more distinctive by touch from the other buttons. It is very easy for your finger to slip off the button(s) and press the wrong button by mistake.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the first blu-ray I buy and wow, what an upgrade from my DVD player. After much deliberation I decided to go with this one since it has a built-in wireless internet feature that allows you to access your netflix account and watch movies from your queue immediately...I love it! (If you don't get the wireless built-in, but you still wanna use the internet features, you'll need to buy extra stuff and it w ill be more expensive in the end)
Setting the player was easy and quick and the image so far is amazing....I still need to buy my first blu-ray disc but, so far, the quality of my dvd's is flawless. If you are going to buy one go with this one without a doubt
