garbled sound

Image quality is superb, but this unit is plagued by sporadic poor sound quality which renders speech unintelligible. It is not caused by defective discs, rather it is a defect within the LG product itself. The only working remedy is basically to shut everything off and do a re-boot of the whole system. Unless LG resolves this matter to my satisfaction, I would recommend to any of my friends that they NOT buy this product.
Pros: Style/Design
Cons: Difficult to use, poor sound quality, user unfriendly manual
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was telling my wife, imagine 20 years ago when there was no internet, DVD, HDTV or high def cable/satellite and now, I can pull up the internet on my DVD player and pick a movie to watch on Netflix or Blockbuster without even having to leave the house. It is amazing how technology has grown over the years, it's like watching the Jetsons Live

This machine has been a joy.. I think I was one of the first to own because I had pre-ordered this when I saw that a wireless Blu player would be available.
the system set up was fairly easy. ** NOTE: i can use the homelink to browse shared folders etc but not the "play to..:" feature in MS win 7 media player as my NOrton virus checker doesn't allow its use. Something about IPv6?
The firmware/software upgrades go off without a hitch. NOTE: I do wish that the details of the upgrades were available somehow, they are nice surprises, but details would be good. Ex. - on one upgrade the ability to use separate subtile files on PC files (single only - not multi lang) was added and I found by accident.
The message that the "wireless might not be as good" screen is not needed as it has been flawless.
I cannot only play one style of avi file - that in which the video is MP4 ver. ?? it's the microsoft proprietary one.
These are the miniscule nit-picky issues in a system that I am in love with.

This is the first Blu Ray I have ever purchased and in love with it. Couldn't beat the price; especially with already having the built in Wi-Fi. Picture and sound are great and it's very USER FRIENDLY. No complaints and always wanting to watch any movie on it regardless of how bad the movie might be, doesn't even matter because the quality is that good.

Easiest set up ever. Nearly effortless. It teams well with my wireless equipment and my LG plasma tv. It was up and running in under 15 min. Slim style. It's just great.

Bought it mainly for it's features. It can do so much other than playing Blu-ray discs.

Got this for fathers day and the features are great. Youtube, Pandora etc. Very cool. The load times are fast. Easy to set up, even switches the TV input when you turn it off or on. Highly reccomend this BD player!
