So far, the hp Officejet 4500 3-in-1 printer recently purchased online, is a great value, especially for home use. I like the color copy feature, but I guess it consumes more ink. The only feature I have not used, is the wireless feature. I have yet to see the stability of the product as I come to use it more often. Yes, I would recommend this product to anyone.

My main reason for ordering this printer was that I wanted a printer that I could install on my network. I already had another HP all-in-one and wanted the ability to connect it via an ethernet cable as I have been suspicious of my wireless network. It does all that I have come to expect from HP and would recommend it to anyone. I would have paid additonal for an exit tray if one were available.

Maybe when I use it more I will like it better. It is noisy and doesn't do what I thought it would. I liked my little F4800 better if the rollers had not stopped working well to pull paper through.

I was in need of a new printer to be compatible with my new desktop. I told the salesperson that I really didn't want or need a printer that faxed. However, the price was great so got it anyways. It prints very well and I am pleased with how easy it is to work with. Have not hooked up the fax but am sure for anyone that needed that accessory - it would work well also.
Instructions for setting it up were very easy to follow for someone who is not very computer savvy - like me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Functional Problems
on April 1, 2012

This is a great printer and I would like to rate it higher, but I can't. It prints great, ir copies great, however it will not interact properly with Adobe Pro 9 that I have used on my computer for a long time. After I installed the printer and set it up (I had to download the software from the HP website due to some defect with the software that came iwth the printer), I am unable to open Adobe and use the Create a PDF from Scanner function. I have to scan directly on the printer using the function buttons. The HP Solution Center program that is set up when you install the printer doesn't allow for scanning two-sided documents. I have a need for scanning in a lot of documents, 1 and 2 sided. Please send help or this equipment is going to the paperweight file.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HP Office Jet 4500

For years I had a simple beige HP printer. When it quit I needed a new one in a hurry and ordered it by phone. It arrived the next day and my neighbor set it up. Now a large black monster sits on my desk. I've been able to print successfully with it. But I don't need FAX Yesterday I tried to copy something and just gave up after an hour!. There are multiple choices and no instruction manual. Its much more elaborate than I'll ever need. (Yes, I'm 81 and not very tech savvy, but I'm still working.)
