Very Good Value

Although a bit loud, overall I would purchase the same printer again. Be aware, however, that you do not receive the USB cable needed to connect the tower to the printer. Fortunately, I had one from a previous printer. For the money, I don't think you can beat it.

Installation software needs to be reworked

I purchased this HP officejet 4500 yesterday. Software won't install correctly, as I was getting error messages and constantly this message "HP Cue status has stopped working", which results in scan function on printer not properly functioning unless you follow instructions shown below.
Scan function does not work, unless you go to Microsoft Photo gallery and follow instructions as shown on HP solution page.
There was something on the HP page saying drivers for Vista were missing as printer came out before Vista.
There seems to be no effort by HP to fix installation software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this printer because I can now make copies, scan and fax which is especially helpful since I am not employed at this time and cannot use the office equipment.

I have not had success connecting my NEW printer (HP Officejet J4550 All-in-One) to my computer. Three others have tried to get my printer to work and have not been successful, and could not give me any ideas of what may be wrong.
My computer is a Mac OS X, Version 10.4.11 and does not seem compatible to the printer/scanner/copier/fax. I chose this one at a Costco store in Silverdale, WA., because it said it was compatible with Mac OSX. It sounded simple and easy to work with and that's what I need . . . simple and easy (I'm a student). Now, I cannot return it because the box was broken down and recycled, and Costco will not take it back if it's not in its original box. I would not recommend this item at all to anyone just because it's hard to install, and gives no reason why.

I have just purchased a HF Officejet J4580. It is a little slower than my old Epson but the print and color are a greatly needed improvement. It doesn't apppear to be tempermental and has interfaced with my Vista software easily. There are still some of the printers functions that I have not installed but the installation seems quite simple. So far it is a fine product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

still waiting on replacement. One i was sent does not work properly...words were wavy on printed page..and printer sounded like a paper shredder when it was printing....very noisy...like it was trying to eat its self...

A good low cost printer with features of higher priced models: scans, copies, photo and fax. Had it about two weeks and runs well. Simple to install with good step by srep installation video
