HPOJ 4500 Good for the Price

This is the second HP Office Jet 4500 I have purchased. I bought it for a family member who needs a printer, scanner and fax machine, but does not need it often. The set up is easy, the quality is good and after one year it is still reliable. I bought the second for the office so we could we could run quick prints without using one of our main computers. I hope it works as well as the first.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great machine for the money

This HP 4500 printer installed easily with basic computer knowledge. I've had it for about a month now and it is working out just fine. Great deal for the money. I actually purchased two of them (one for my daughter) because the price was so good and she is enjoying hers also.

I like the printer but...

I like the printer but it could have had or I could have been notified that I needed to search through various locations to get "critical updates" in order to scan and print properly. I wasted over 5 hours today setting the printer up and getting it working.

I love the look and functionality of the product. At first I had some problems with the fax. I have Verizin Fios and it is not compatible with the HP Officejet All-In-One to do wireless faxing. If you fax from the glass, everything works fine. Overall I love it.

Good printer for home use

I purchased the HP officejet 4500 all-in-one printer to replace HP PSC2175 all-in-one printer. The 4500 was not hard to set up (but I did not hook up the wireless feature) and has functioned smoothly for about a month. Good scanner. Compared to the 2175, the new 4500 is a bit slower and the black and white copy is not quite as sharp and crisp. Paper feed seems a bit more sensitive, but I have experienced no jams, so far. My impression is that the 4500 will be somewhat less durable than the 2175, but it is an inexpensive and quick fix for a printer for home use.

Good Buy for the Money - But difficult install

For the money, this all in one is a bargain but I had alot of trouble getting all of the features installed and running properly. This is definitely not a plug n play device. Print quality is acceptable for a printer in this price range, but it is rather slow in both printing and scanning. One great feature is that it does multiple page scanning via the auto doc feed - sure beats doing one page at a time.
