Thus far I'm very pleased...

Having a dedicated fax line and answering machine, the set-up took a while to tweek out receiving that first fax, but after that, I couldn't be more pleased with the product itself. For my household's needs, this product fit our budget and has performed well.

This, and the other 3 purchased in our office, 2 4500's and 2 6500's are terrible. They jam, jam, jam. Tec support is not helpful. We could not print more than 2 pages at a time before it would jam. Very disappointing. Made in China, tec help was in Phillipines, could not understand English. Had to box up and send back, still waiting for credit on our card. Do not buy this if you want to keep your stress level down and print more than one copy at a time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have never had a HP product as bad as this printer. I tried to set it up but couldn't get the printer ink units to install. I tried everything I could think of -- no go. I called service tech who talked me through many ideas I hadn't tried but still -- no go. This took an hour. She turned me over to a "hardware tech" who did nothing but tell me to return the printer. The one thing that was positive was that I received the replacement the day I sent the printer back. The second printer acted the same way, so I didn't bother with calling tech support, but asked for a refund of my money, which was promised. Very bad printer -- as I saw when I read the reviews.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ethernet conflicts with other HP printers

I already have a HPD110 on my wireless router. Installing this product was a huge disaster. The HP Solution Center software continually lost connections with one or both printers. The program would uninstall both when trying to repair either. By the time I thought I had it stable, I tried to install on my XP Professional laptop using the USB connection (VPN tunnel prevents using local router when active.) Program wouldn't even load. Had to search out the installing program to install basic drivers. It printed fine on USB at first. The next time I used the main PC, both printers had been deleted. This was a replacement of a HP6310 which worked fine until the hinge broke. This 'new' model was nothing but trouble.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I previously had the HP officejet 4580 and I really liked it so I decided to stick with HP officejet 4500 and it works great. no problem.
