Going WiFi

Not being a techno person I have recently replaced my printer with the HP4500, specifically for the WiFi link to my laptop. After some difficulty in setup due to my particular Firewall it now works so well I smile every time I print from another room. No doubt I will learn more as I go, but I am quite happy that I have the printer to suit my needs. Print quality, ease of operation, cartridge availability all make the package a sound investment, and if it serves for 10 years like my last HP then even better. Thanks HP.

I had to print some images and it struggled. I also get errors regarding the cartiriges and have to fiddle with them.

OK for a budget printer.

Per the title - it does the job. My main gripe is that every time I start it up, I get a message telling me to align the cartridges. I've done them 3 times now and enough's enough. I also find the solution centre software that ships with HP's printers cumbersome and a nightmare to navigate.

Worth trying

Maybe 4 stars? There are minuses, like the noisiness and the finely-calibrated mechanism that regularly tells you you are ink-dry, when you've loads. And I don't know yet how the inks cost is going to work out over a lengthy period. The major plus is the overall efficiency, including the speed of printing. A minor, but important, one is the ease of copying of photos.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I experienced difficulty installing the software for wifi printing, then, once installed, the printer will only produce one copy: I am told there is a paper jam, or the fax memory is full (and I haven't even set the fax up) and I have to reload my system to print something in the queue.
Print quality is ok when it decides to print, but all these error messages are becoming a bore. I have also reloaded the software.

This really is one machine that I wish I had not bought.

I have had a PSC1400 for several years with no problem but decided to update, so went for a similar printer.

I have had this printer for 5 months first three months fine no probelm than all of a sudden it stops printering i now have to turn off the printer leave it for ten minuates than turn it back on again and hope it printers sometimes i may have to proform is 2 - 4 times. Am a small business and need a working printer so now will be looking to replace this one soon.
