Great printer and so Quiet

This is probably the 10th printer I have owned since the first one in 1984. The colors are sharp, realistic, print well and are dry. The setup was so easy I kept looking for something I must have missed. For an All in One - it has a small footprint. The wireless part of it is wonderful, prior to this printer I had set up a wireless network just for my printer. I kept having to reset it so I was thrilled to see a printer with an internal one. One of the best features is it is QUIET. Living a small condo; quiet appliances and machines make a huge difference.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, easy to use, quiet

Canon really maxed out the feature list and did a great job on the implementation. Canon shoots a warning shot across the bow of the competition with the MX870!
Wirelessly I can access the card reader from my PC, not just print pictures like other printers.
Wirelessly, I can duplex scan documents automatically handled form the document feeder and ready for printing or email attachment with PDF.
Build quality and attention to detail are very impressive...
I'm impressed more with each new feature... and then I have to mention the price. Worth double what they ask.

Perfect For Home

i'm 100% satisified with this purchase. i've chosen Canon for all of my technical needs & always satisfied. i just started working from home & this machine conquers all. i've really put it to the test this past week. its print quality is fantastic & the speed is wonderful. it has many great features, i love the screen & ease of use. the door automatically opens when you print. i haven't used wifi yet but it's nice to have that capibility. this printer is a bit bulky but it's a must for what it does. i highly recommend this all-in-one for those who need a multi-function machine. this is definitely worth every penny of it's reasonable price tag.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use, wifi
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Wireless fails repeatedly

I have set this up as a wireless device and it works fine for a few days, but then it forgets the SSID and/or password. This has happened repeatedly after several days and I have been unable to find a solution.
Cons: Difficult Setup, unreliable, wireless unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst purchase ever

This printer was problematic within the first 3 months of ownership. I only used it for printing emails and documents. Printing speed very slow, it ate color ink cartridges very quickly and I could only print 1 page at a time before an error screen would appear causing me to power off, then power on in order to print pages 2 and beyond. I was constantly contacting Canon for trouble shooting. Finally after only 3 yrs of ownership, it died. A complete waste of my money.

Easy Installation

I considered several all in one printers and have been very happy and satisfied with the Canon MX870. Installation instructions were very easy to follow and I was using the printer within 20 minutes after I unpacked the carton. The printer is slightly larger than the others I considered but am very impressed with the quality and appearance of the printer.
Pros: Easy Setup, durable, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: i have not experienced any cons to date

Best Purchase Finally!

The printer is easy to hook up and use wirelessly. It is quiet and the processes that you hear do not sound like it is a piece of junk that is not reliable. The ink is set so that they are individual so you do not replace a whole cartridge because one of the colors is out. I recommend this highly. It is very compatable.

This printer is the best printer I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few. It will do everything I need it to do.. It has GREAT picture printing quality and is very fast.
