One of the Best on the Market. A " No Brainer"

I have worked with many printer brands over the years and Canon has always given consistant quality for the money. I don't understand the problems that some people are having as I bought 2 of these porinters (1 was refurbished) and have no problems with connectivity (or any of the other reported problems) be it wireless, wired to the usb, or on a network (and all 3 methods are easy to hook up, simply insert the disk that comes with it and follow directions.)
I also print on many types of paper media from high quality cloth based, to slick glossy, to photo glossy, to cheap paper; using from greyscale, to high quality, I print using black and color modes, and duplex mode and never have any print problems of fuzzy letters. Printing is always crisp and clear no matter the mode nor the paper.( however with slick photo one does have to make the settings match lest one allow tooo much ink for the paper and that will possibly smear) I recommend that 1) they talk to canon tech service to resolve the connectivity problems or 2) if canon tech service determines it is faulty then they send it back for repair while it is under warranty. As for running out of a inks , particularly color it is only 1 color . When a multicolor tank is out of only one color, it may as well be out of all colors as the entire tank must be replaced regardless of how many colors are still good, Replacing a multicolored tank, is indeed much costlier compared to replacing only a one color tank. This is a great multitask printer whose features are quickly acessed, and works reliably and it is great for home business or professionals
Pros: excellent print quality, easy wireless setup, easy usb connectivity, quick and easy to network, once ready relativly fast printing, easy use from the printer or from the computer, great quality photos, all functions work flawlessley, easy to access printer from any program, works regardless of type of connectivity
Cons: bulky, heavy, slow to start but fast for multiple copies once st

I have had some issues with this printer. However, I can say it is terribly frustrating that if a color cartridge goes EMPTY, YOU CANNOT USE YOUR MACHINE.
Ugh on the night of a closing on a home I surely didn't need to have this happen at 11pm! Won't recommend this machine to anyone.
Pros: wireless
Cons: cannot use if one single ink cartridge is empty

Best Purchase Ever

First time ever setting up a wireless all in one. Simple once I realized I needed to go to menu on the machine to turn it on.
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!!! It faxes within seconds. The heavy weight allows it to stay in place and I am pleased with its beauty. I may as well mention also that it does almost everything! My fingers are crossed about the low ink consumption.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use, heavy and stays in place

Great printer. Se up was easy. We use it at least 4 times aday. Printing Faxing and coping well over 250 pags at a time. The only thing that needs improvement is the amount of paper it holds. This one replaced a 860 which the wireless died on.

Don't bother, all it does is beep

I am very displeased with this product. I have been a loyal Canon customer for years, but this printer has been nothing but problems. I only purchased it when my last printer died and I was told it wasn't worth it to repair. I was told this was an amazing all-in-one, but rarely does any function work without beeping rapidly for an unknown reason. When it does print, the quality is good, but it seems like it is more of an effort to make it work. Scanning is impossible. It alternates between alert beeps for "select printer" and "push start!" but nothing works. It will not scan a document. Printing is annoying because you have to remove the tray to get it to print from the rear tray and make sure paper is out of the rear tray if you want it to print from the regular. It overall seems to have a mind of its own. Since I have owned this I have spent more time trying to quiet its alert beeps. I was much happier with my previous Pixma.

Awesome Printer

In the past 20 years I have had 4 other brands of printers. I always bought a little up from the standard hoping for better results. As I got more into scanning, printing and copying I was not satisfied with the results of my other printers. I reviewed and tried the Canon for about a month before I bought. In the first month of use I have had the satisfaction that I should have had with my first printer. The colors are crisper, using it wireless is great (no wires meaning I could put it where I wanted it) and the ease of changing from one print job to another is great. I'm thinking about why Canon wasn't my first choice all those years ago.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Low Ink Consumption, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use

Ink use

I like this printer for everything but it's ink use. It is expensive to keep it in ink. Printing is good otherwise.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: High Ink Consumption

We have had problems with this printer since day one. It does not stay connected, can not get it programed in to where it stays. I would never buy another Cannon!!!!
Cons: Slow Print Speed, unreliable
