This was our first Blue Ray player, and so far it has performed excellent. The only thing I don't like is the remote control is a little slow.
Pros: Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: Difficult to use

I love the LG products. Everything about this product is positive. No cons at all. It is easy to set up. The color is awesome. With all of the products that comes with the player from LG is Great. I've checked around & LG has the most bells & whistles on it. You can't go wrong with LG BD 550.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, the remote is great!

My first Blu-Ray plaayer

I was extremely amazed at the quality and ease of use with my new LG-BD550 Blu-Ray player. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of installation, and instinctively easy controls on the remote. I gave my DVD to my Grandmother, and my cd player to my son. I don't need them anymore! This machine does it all! The picture quality makes even my 780P flat screen POP with amazing colors, and combined with Dolby sound through a surround sound system, I feel as if I own a personal theater. Thank you for such an excellent multimedia player!
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, sound quality

This product is loaded with tons of features, my favorite is Pandora and Netflix (really the only ones I use) and the connection is easy and I have had nothing but great experiences with LG. I did have an issue with a TV that was completely replaced without hassle ... Every TV and Disc player I buy from now on will be LG !!!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: need to add an internet connection

Great Blu-Ray player

I purchased this Blu-Ray player to replace an older Blu-Ray player that I owned. I picked this model because of its features and price and I have not been disappointed.
This player loads much faster than my previous model and I enjoy how easy it is to use. I purchased two more of these after using this model for a couple of weeks. The main thing my family and I use it for is to stream Netflix movies.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Great entry level player

I have had this player for about 3 months now and am very satisfied with it. I purchased it mainly to instant view from Netflix, and am very happy with my purchase so far. I got this player instead of the next one up because I don't need wireless. It works just fine with my older TV, although it took a while to get the picture corrected (I'm stuck at the very lowest resolution the player can display; anything else results in a double picture). No problems, loads and plays quickly. I only wish that more network content was available, such as Hulu. I have two minor complaints: the Netflix interface doesn't allow you to search for a title directly, rather you can just look thru various lists. The other services have an alpha search option, but not the one I use most. The other irritation I have is that when starting up the picture looks wonky until the player fully loads all setup settings -- shaky, double picture -- but then it's fine once fully on. Style is good, and remote easy to use.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings

Excellent Usability

I purchased an LD550 HDTV and said to myself my cable couldn't do it justice. So i purchased the BD550 Blu-Ray player by LG. I hooked up the network cable and HDMI cables, with the Blu-ray Avatar, and was like; omg. I was stunned at the performance of the TV and Blu-ray. The clarity was amazing. The ease of use was what caught my attention. With the Simplink, the TV recognized the Blu-ray right away and changed to the HDMI port without me even touching the TV remote. Yes, I love that. I become even lazier, hehe. At any extent the networking capability was great. The other draw back was the usb being in the front of the player. I would perfer the key to be in the a hidden compartment. It doesn't look good having the front bay open down. And it provides opportunity for breaking it if someone bumps into it. Also they should expand the onboard memory so that you can use the BD-Live features out of the box instead of having to use a usb flash drive. But overall this is still a great buy and deal.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: usb port location
