I HAVE USED THE TURBO TAX PROGRAM FOR MANY YEARS--AND FIND IT EASY TO FOLLOW.

TURBO ANNOYANCES

Many instruction grammatically confusing: inability to print individual pages, Inability to return to current page after back review: Was mislead into thinking Fed A N D State were free with purchase. Was told we had Maine taxes due for 2014 when we moved to Maine in Jan 2015. Other annoyances too many to go into detail here.

Making life simple

You added a minus number and a Schedule C. No such data was entered by me and I could not get it out. Other than that Turbo Tax works in excellent fashion.
What's great about it: Works very well
What's not so great: Almost impossible to fix an error

Very functional software

This software is very easy to use. With no accounting background, I was able to understand what i needed to do to complete the task. The explanations of the information requested were detailed enough so I felt that I understood what applied to my tax situation.
Gather all of the info before hand and it is a simple task.

This is my 5th year of using TurboTax software and I found it lacking in several areas:
There were minor lapses in the transfer of data from my previous returns,
On occassion, when I wanted to go back, I couid only go back one step and then I was in a loop between two pages. I had to start the section over to get to where I needed to go.

I use TurboTax Deluxe and I found the e-mails about the various versions and what I needed to do to get the functionality that I expected confusing. Multiple e-mails from Intuit and several from my retailer, too much.
I have been a loyal user of Turbotax and highly recomend it to anyone who will listen. While in the end I am satisfied with my experience this year, I think I will at least explore other software options before committing to TurboTax for 2015 returns.
What's great about it: Easy to use/understand and thourough
What's not so great: final steps too lengthly

Charged for Audit When I did not want it

Tax time

I have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for a few years and this year I got my dad to use it expecting to walk him through it all. I simply told him to follow the directions and answer the questions. A few days after loading it on him computer, he called me and said he was done. It's that easy!
What's great about it: Easy to use - even my dad can do it
