Deceptive

So I bought Turbo Tax for the last several years and had no issues. This year however I was amazed that before I could file it made me upgrade from Deluxe to Premier in order to file but never gave any indication during the preparation that I would have to upgrade. The upgrade was also 39.99 and I already paid 49.98 so Turbo Tax cost me 89.97 plus 19.99 to file my state return so it cost me a total of 109.96 to self prepare my taxes. Very Very Very Deceptive. Just be aware of the new improved Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to Use
What's not so great: Deceptive add on costs at the end before letting you file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Worst experience ever!

I have used Turbo tax for over 10 years. It used to be my go-to tax preparer. But, it has gotten worse and worse. The first problem is that over the last number of years I would always finish my taxes only to find out after I paid that all the tax forms aren't available and I had to wait until Turbo Tax told me they were ready. This year I had a special case with my dependent care account and form 2441. I was on the phone for about 3 1/2 hours with four different Turbo Tax reps before one finally saw that this was a common enough problem and solved the problem in about 15 minutes. What a waste of a night. They refunded my prep fee but not sure i will ever use Turbo tax again....not worth it, I would rather just spend a couple hundred dollars and have someone do it right the first time.
What's great about it: Seems like a perfect way for the DIY tax preparer
What's not so great: The program easily gets tripped and and most staff don't know what to do

To many added charges compared to previous years!!

Likely will not use your product in the future. Do to the several "hidden" costs not explained or mentioned prior to purchase and maneuvering through all facets of your product. H&R block and most tax advisors will give you all costs related to you taxes prior to completing them. I would not have used your product this year however I had already purchased it and could not return it as it had been used!!!! :-( :-(
What's great about it: Getting the taxes done.
What's not so great: To many additional charges not explained prior to purchasing

I miss the old Turbo Tax. The changes this year have made up my mind I will be using another software next year. The added costs and severe limiting of features have ruined this product.

You changed up your services per level which causes us to buy the higher packages. If I have itemized and a business, I now have to spend 2-3 times the money for Turbo tax when your basic package used to do it for us.
What's great about it: can still import info from prior return
What's not so great: cost more for the package!

HAVE BEEN A USER AND TURBO TAX FOR YEARS. IF THESE FORMS ARE NOT ADDED BACK ON NEXT YEAR I'LL BE USING H&R SOFTWARE!!!!!!

Been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for 20 years. Always liked the easy of use. This year, in the middle of the return I find out that in order to claim self employment expenses I have to upgrade to Turbo Home and Business for an additional $40. Way to go TT. You won't get anymore blood from this turnip. I'm gone!!!
What's great about it: Well laid out, easy to use
What's not so great: Too Expensive, overpriced, hidden fees!!

Strongly angered by change in basic edition. Had to buy Deluxe edition to complete taxes. I have no state return as I live in Florida. So I have a Basic homeowner deduction filing. You would only allow by the deluxe edition. Even though i have been a loyal intuit customer since 1994, I will be changing to a new program next year (2015).
What's great about it: ease
What's not so great: Loss of Basic for basic filing
