Not sure I will purchase Turbo Tax again a nd I have bought this tax filing software for about 10 years.
What's not so great: Did not like having to pay if wanted to efile state return and not being able to efile state separate.

Filing in 2 states is getting ridiculously higher every year. I'm at the point where I can have a tax service prepare and file for approx. the same $$
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Pricing

I can't believe that I still hear so many people pay Accountants and Tax Preparers when they could use turbotax at a fraction of the cost. God Bless everyone that developed and continue to enhance this wonderful program. So easy to use and to have my returns electronically filed is awesome!! Again Thank you all!!
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: None

Gets easier and better each year

Price is right !! Directions are clear and procedure is coherent and logical and easy to follow. Incorporating Federal information into the State is a great idea and makes filing a lot simpler. Showing comparison with prior year info and filing is a great idea and simplified process. Filing Federal and State was easy and carryover of info needed to file and make payments to Fed, State and Turbo Tax simplified the process. The follow-up regarding of confirmation of filing is a great idea.
What's great about it: CARRYOVER PRIOR YEARS INFO & EXPLANATIONS AND HELP
What's not so great: Query re: State ID wasn't answered clearly
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Taxes are just too difficult, if you don't take the basic exemptions. to ensure one does them properly, and not leave money on the table, yet, do so in a manner that is honest and with integrity, is a headache at best. TurboTax helps a TON to weigh through the decisions and issues.
However, other Intuit products don't seem to support as advertised. They almost appear purposely broken. Like Quicken 2014. I spend a lot of money on that application, but it doesn't work properly... it did, now it doesn't. It stopped downloading transactions from NFCU, and Intuit provided no help to me. I've used Intuit since v1.1... you'd think....
Also, TurboTax doesn't download Tax data from NFCU properly, although they list them. Pick up the pace. Your product costs enough, make it happen.
I like the way TurboTax wades through the efile process. Makes it easy to get that completed.
Thank you.
What's great about it: ease of data entry and entry prompts
What's not so great: still requires quite a bit of research to look up technical terms

I get 2 state retirement checks, one for my deceased wife and my own. In the 1099R entries for those, I forgot the state ID. Turbo tax caught the error and gave me a chance to fill it in. HOWEVER, One came up for a 13a correction & a short box that would allow any entry. The other correction provided a 13 box and a long enough box to fill in the missing number. Since there was no way to fill in the blank and correct the error, I could not email my federal return.
What's great about it: I use the "lead me" process & like it.
What's not so great: Inability to correct (apparent) computer gllitch. See below.
