I have used TT for a number of years now and have had no problems with filing both federal and state returns until this year. My state will not download. I've tried all the "fixes". Don't know what to do. Guess I'll go to the Post Office and get the forms and file them myself. Oh well, it will save me $19.99.
What's great about it: Ease of filing.
What's not so great: cannot download/file my state return

This was my first year to use Turbo Tax. Several friends and co-workers recommended it so I tried it. I love it as it guided me though each step. I will be using Turbo Tax from now on!!!
What's great about it: Guided me though each step!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I used to use TurboTax and got away from that when my wife went into business with a partner. I have been frustrated with both the cost of using a tax preparer, and how long it too for us to get our taxes finished and filed. This has been especially important with two kids in college and needing to get accurate reporting for FAFSA forms for the college. She sold out her half a couple of years ago, so I decided to go ahead and return to doing it myself with TurboTax. So Glad I did! Had my taxes all figured out and knew what to expect before February was out. Past 4 years we never knew until well into April!.
What's great about it: Really like how it walked me through everything. I felt it was thorough and helpful.
What's not so great: none

Overall good experience.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and helpful hints.
What's not so great: Changing State information not clear.

Very complete and updates the software and forms when updates are available. Turbo Tax gives you an audit risk assessment.
What's great about it: Returned the needed schedules in the deluxe version
What's not so great: One State filing should be free

User experience is good with one minor annoyance

Every year Turbo Tax prompts me to buy or file my Tennessee tax return. I am really surprised your application is not smart enough to know Tennessee residents don’t have a state tax and hence I have nothing to file. Are you attempting to take advantage of users that do not know better?
The overall user experience is very good.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: The application prompts me to buy or file state taxes in state that does not have any.
