I verified my internet connection and ability to access other websites; I was not using a wireless connection for the transmit process; and I tried to transmit for long periods of time - I never received any type of result. No success, no fail, no error messages, nothing... What a disappointment! I just had to print and mail this year...

This is an easy and affordable option for doing your own taxes. Don't pay other people to do your taxes for you, they use software just like this; do your taxes yourself!

Very thorough

This is a less expensive version of the tax software my tax accountant used last year. I can answer the questions as well as he did and pocketed more then half the money I would have paid him. I have used Turbo Tax for years, but, last year I wanted to see if a "professional" would save me any more money then I save myself. No additional savings at all, I get back just as much by doing it my self as I do paying a professional. Next year all my info will already be in the computer and it should be even easier. There are free programs on line for filing, I much prefer Turbo Tax, fewer problems and easy to understand.
What's great about it: it asked all the right questions and imported everything to the state forms

2014 taxes

I was extremely disapointed because TT Basic had changed to where it was only good for 1040 EZ and not for 1040. Had to buy both and didn't get refunded for my purchase of Basic although I would have if I had purchased Deluxe and then had to purchase Premier.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: TT was changed so Basic is only good for EZ.

Much more hassle than previous years!

I have used TurboTax for over a decade. This edition of TurboTax caused me far more headaches than ever before.

Straightforward

Overall, the mess that is the tax system was navigated easily using TurboTax. I don't think that I could have done it on my own without the prompts and the categories that led me through the system. Filing electronically is also a plus, especially after hours of worry. Please don't add any more frills, or we may not be able to support the program on laptops.
What's great about it: Every step was laid out nicely into categories
What's not so great: Didn't explain where to find some forms (80-107? Where?)
