Maximized my refund
on February 28, 2015

Overall it pretty much easy to work with and gives you all the options to maximize your refund. I did pay state tax though, but then its okay.
I also intruduce Turbotax to my friend and they found it easy to use also.
I did recieved a letter of apology with the statement to give me a $25.00 back if I use Turbotax this year, but then its only in the e-mail.
What's great about it: Easy to work with.
What's not so great: Have problem in changing data on the dependent, if you select them as your dependent or not.

Locked in a Loop
on February 28, 2015
Posted by: HemiDeSoto
I got to the end, made a copy, filed and then got locked in a loop. I couldn't find it in my index, so don't know what is its status. Also my daughter did her return last year, yet it doesn't show in my index to bring it in for 2014. Did she do something too soon or what happened?
What's great about it: It asks good questions
What's not so great: Locked in a loop and couldn't continue

TurboTax: Gets Taxes Done Easily and Accurately
on February 28, 2015
Posted by: Ioway54
Been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years, in different states, with employment changes, house purchases, own a business, etc. Every year it makes it easy to correctly file taxes. Have never been audited. Will always use Turbo Tax even when our situation becomes very simple. E-file works great and is free.
What's great about it: Questions guide each step and ask about changes. If used TT last year it imports data.
What's not so great: Interface changes year to year but so do tax laws
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Deluxe limit and Its Deductable Problem
on February 28, 2015
Posted by: Last49fromme
Early issues with the reduction of the functionality of the desktop deluxe version, news stories on filing for state being turned off, and then I had an issue with Its Deductable information not importing. Searching through help to see if it was an actual issue and having to apply patches to the software to correct the problem.
Not what I'm used to from TurboTax after using it for close to 20 years.
What's great about it: Quick - finished in 4 hours
What's not so great: Its Deductable Import problem and "Deluxe" limitations

Turbo Tax makes the somewhat daunting thought of personal tax preparation a simple and straight-forward task so I've used this method for a good number of years now and it always works out well for me.
What's great about it: Easy straight-forward guide through one-on-one questions

Good but could be better
on February 28, 2015

Having to pay double to the price to add a second state is unreasonable. A modest fee of $10 or so would be far more appropriate.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Extra cost to add a second state and to file state returned electronically.
