Quick and Easy

This software is great! It imports all of your data from the previous year's forms so you always know what documents you need if your tax situation hasn't changed. The questions and prompts are easy to follow. It is able to determine your maximum benefit based on your answers and checks to make sure nothing that might trip an audit is present. Even with itemizing, completing the return is very fast!
What's great about it: simple to follow, quick processing, imports data

We have talked about doing our taxes ourselves for years and not pay a person to do what we probably could do ourselves. We are both professionals and do paperwork all the time. We loved the detailed instructions. We are getting back more than we planned! Yea:)

I didn't read the very fine print on the back of the box that said I needed OSX 10.7.5 for my Mac. After struggling with the online version of TaxAct, I decided to upgrade my computer. I may reconsider next year.
What's great about it: TurboTax helped me through area which would have been difficult on my own.
What's not so great: I'm glad I didn't need Schedule D. (I bought the Deluxe version without realizing that it wash't there. )

Maximize your returns

It's this time of the year, again, when we need to review our past year's financial numbers and make sure we have all the 1 and 0 in place. With TurboTax, it's becoming a breeze to go through and you get the confidence you did an OK job once again. I would not go back to the paper version, ever again.

Did not connect to my "ItsDeductible" account to retrieve 2014 donation values, which I had already done prior to doing 2014 taxes.
What's not so great: ItsDeductible 2014 donations' retrieval failed within TurboTax

Software Problem but Turbo Tax Service Great!

The manual function on the American Opportunity Credit is not working. The fix through "LETME" is not intuitive. The fix is not available anywhere on help key or the on-line help. However, the call-in Turbo Tax service person was great! The lady helped me and was also very pleasant and funny (which was bonus because I was frustrated early on) -- what a wonderful employee!!
What's great about it: Call-in Service Great!
What's not so great: American Opportunity Credit Manual (non-function)

great tax program

I find Turbo Tax a great tax program, made easy and complete.
What's great about it: complete with all state forms and info needed vs H&R block's lack of state info to complete filing correctly
What's not so great: no cons
