I had always done my taxes by hand, on paper. I tried TurboTax several years ago, and did a side by side comparison for a couple of years. The numbers always matched, and it took substantially less time. I gave up doing all the calculations by hand and went directly to the software. My favorite part is the online filing and direct deposit of any refunds.
The name of the software package changed this year, and it took me some research to determine which one I needed. A simple "equivalent to Deluxe" on the package or promotional material would have been helpful.

What's great about it: quick and accurate
What's not so great: more difficult to find this year due to name change

The print routines are not friendly

Got to the print preview, it opened, and then had no clue what to do. I have a laptop with touch screen Win8 and tapped the screen all over with no way to print or escape. I finally right clicked my mouse and got a print icon. I think I still like Turbo Tax but really am getting to hate Windows 8.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax still good
What's not so great: Print routine is not friendly in windows 8

Our friends identities were stolen through turbo tax so we were a bit leery of pressing the e-file button.. crossing my fingers. I have been using turbo tax since around 1997 and love it!
What's great about it: easy to use :-)

I love me some Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax is so easy that I am able to prepare my taxes in less than a day. I wait for all of my forms and start and finish filing within 2 hours. I love this product!
What's great about it: Ease of Use
What's not so great: None that I have found
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Happily using TurboTax every year since the '90's

Been using TurboTax every year since the '90's. When it came on 3.5" floppy disks! Ha! That's funny... Anyway, I know a lot of people are unhappy with the changes TurboTax made this year, but those changes didn't impact me in any way. I'm still happy with it and will continue to use it in the future.
What's great about it: Easily imports previous year data and compares progress
What's not so great: Each year it tells me I have an account when paying. Then tells me the account doesn't exist when I try to sign in.

I really liked the manner in which the social security retirement pay was handled. Last year I did not use Turbo Tax and I really struggled calculating how much of the Social Security was taxable and how much was not. Using Turbo Tax this year it was no effort at all. Overall the program is great and I recommend it to anyone.

What's not so great: I truly do not have any Cons
