For years & years I did my own and rarely got it right. I paid for it to be done and what a waste. With Turbo Tax I can do it at my own pace giving me time to be guided in gathering up all the stuff I need. Been using it for years and will continue to.
What's great about it: Walks me through
What's not so great: Some of the print could be a little larger

Answering simple questions and this program puts the answer where it belongs in your tax forms. It figures everything out out for you so how else can I say it's as easy as 1 2 3. I have been using Turbo Tax for over 23 years. It does your e-file for you too.

Painless

I have been using TurboTax for years and continue to rely on it. One issue this year dealt with whether to take standard deduction or itemized. TurboTax recommended using standard which resulted in a larger Federal return but also a much higher tax owed in Maryland. Using itemized I had a smaller Federal refund and a much lower tax liability for Maryland. This is an issue everyone should look out for to minimize tax liability. Use due diligence and check both ways to see what method provides best result.

What's not so great: Wrong recommendation for standard vs Itemized for Maryland

Like Having Your Own Personal CPA!

I have been using Turbo Tax for years! It cannot be easier to understand and to make sure everything is done properly. If you need to get an explanation on something, it is explained in terms that you can understand. It's checked, doubled checked and has been perfect every time! The only way I will ever do my taxes!
What's great about it: Could not be easier!

Problems I have discovered

I have cancelled debt reported on a 1099 C. The way you ask your questions about the debt caused me to try to work around my problem. Because it was on my primary residence it is not taxable but of the two choices you offer it is not clear that I should have chosen the first option and I actually filed my return without getting form 982 included. The examples in parenthesis appear to limit the choices to only those. I now have to file an amended return to get form 982 included.
Also, the same thing happened last year and I now have to amend my 2013 return.
Problem #2
I tried to go back to amend my 2013 return and as I start the amendment option, our income is being mixed with 2014 income. My income is changed and my wife's income W-2 is the exact amount on our 2014 return.
I am very unhappy about this and now must probably create a whole new 2013 return.
You have a problem here and I would like to see a solution.
Also, the same thing happened last year and I now have to amend my 2013 return.
