FORCING E-FILING OF STATE TAX RETURN
on February 24, 2015

WE WISH TO PAPER-FILE OUR STATE TAX RETURN AND TURBO TAX MAKES THAT IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT FIRST DELETING THE STATE RETURN. THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR WE'VE ENCOUNTERED THIS ON TURBO TAX. THE REASON WE DON'T E-FILE OUR STATE RETURN IS THAT WITH TURBO TAX DELUXE MONEY IS REQUIRED WHICH WE DO NOT WISH TO PAY. SNAIL MAIL IS DEFINITELY CHEAPER & SINCE WE OWE THE STATE WE'RE IN NO RUSH TO FILE THAT.
What's great about it: GENERALLY EASY TO USE
What's not so great: TRIES TO FORCE E-FILING OF STATE RETURN WHICH COSTS MORE

Overall TurboTax is easy to work with as it walks you through and picks up on your specific tax situation. If something seems unusual the software revisits to make sure you are entering correct data. However, the wording of some sections seems oriented to working folks more than retirees, especially Federal retirees with health insurance as part of their retirement.
What's great about it: Really like the walk-through of each step and ease of filing
What's not so great: Thought the part-year state residency should have done the proportional caluculations for me
Pros: I moved

I have always used Turbo Tax for many years however this year I have difficulty with going back to an earlier step and checking the info that I entered for each response.
What's great about it: Ease of completing returns
What's not so great: difficult to go back and review whole return page by page
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Once again I just feel confident that I have filed my tax forms properly. I have been using Turbo Tax for many, many years now and intend to keep using this process to the end. I am about to turn 78 years old and thanks to Turbo Tax I can still do my own filing.
What's great about it: I love the feeling of confidence that my return is correct
What's not so great: No "Cons". The process is superb

I enjoy this software, easily to follower and not too expense to purchase for those who get small refund. I can spend my money on other important things than having other people do my taxes.
What's great about it: like and easily to follower the program
What's not so great: I have none

See cons above. Also don't understand why I was asked to file a NJ State tax return. Yes, we had gambling winnings in 2014 (offset by losses), but there was no other income, losses, etc. items from NJ. This is the first time this request to file a NJ state return appeared in all the years I've used turbo-tax.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to follow
What's not so great: Real Estate tax deduction no showing in the refund box immediately after entering is confusing
