Easy as Pie

You don't have to be a genius to succeed at filing with Turbo Tax. I have used it for many years and have always felt confident that I was getting the most out of my earnings. If you can read you can do this!
What's great about it: tax filing for dummy's
What's not so great: I still owed money
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great Consistent Application - used since 2000!

The application is very consistent and comprehensive with extensive wizards, helping through each section with pertinent questions. Quick access to virtual forms for manual review as well. The comparison guides to prior year are very handy to aid that my taxes are being filed properly and that I haven't forgotten anything. It also makes mistakes stand out pretty quickly -- that one extra tax break the program allowed wasn't mine after all (after a little more research)! With W-2 import processes, the e-file submissions, confirmation of transmission with IRS acceptance, the program gives great peace of mind, not to mention the benefits of the automatic checking deposit (and knowing that the bank information is already there -- encrypted in the proprietary tax file -- ready for next year's program import and filings)!

Love that I am able to complete my taxes in a short amount of time.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Didn't like that it wasn't updated when I first installed it to my computer.

Last year, TurboTax had me overpay my federal taxes. It was somewhat tedious to calculate the difference in numbers to enter. It would sure be nice if the state forms would carry over data from previous years. I didn't have the same problems other people described, but I had fewer deductions this year.
What's great about it: Everything seemed to work this year
What's not so great: Divorce isn't easy to account for

I had income from a consultant position for 1 year only and it still carries over to each years Turbo Tax and I cannot get rid of it. But, cannot file my taxes until I fill out that portion. Very frustrating and time consuming.
What's great about it: ease of use
What's not so great: carry over from previous years that I cannot figure out how to delete

For the last 3 or 4 years we have been using TurboTax and I don't think is a better and easier way. It goes to the point!

2014 Taxes are DONE

We've used TT for years and each year it gets easier. It's great because it imports the previous year's fields that are still relevant and saves time. We like the review at the end which flags potential errors.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and fill in
What's not so great: Property tax section is a little confusing
