Easy Tax Preparation

I've been using Turbo Tax for years. Always does a complete analysis and provides good year to year comparisons to quickly let you know if something is off. Does a comprehensive review and will identify when something is not right or identifying items to recheck. Pulls in data from last years returns automatically.
What's great about it: Complete coverage; Detailed descriptions; help available as needed; pulls previous year data
What's not so great: Navigation sometimes tricky

I think it's the only way to go, if you want to do your own tax form.
What's great about it: It's simple enough for me to do myself and will continue

Finally Over

Most everything went well. I have an adult son (34 yrs. old), living with me, with no income. Difficult to answer some questions about weither or not he constiutes a dependant.
What's great about it: I love that I could handle everything online.
What's not so great: Some situations not covered in the Q & A.

Many years of TurboTax use

We have used TurboTax Deluxe for both Federal and State filing since at least 1999. It's easy to use and I can work on my taxes when I want to. I don't have to set up an appointment with a Tax Preparer. And it improves each year.
What's great about it: It is fairly to use, and has expainations , help windows, when I have questions.
What's not so great: When Printing, The Contributions print 3 pages of work sheet for each contribution you enter.

Turbotax is user friendly but you still need to understand your taxes to make it work correctly for you. Its a good review of your status and where you are.

last year we got state forms in our software package we have used turbo tax five years running and have good return results will continue to use. we even got a new computer this year just to use turbo tax
What's great about it: easy to follow format
What's not so great: needed to get state forms

I've been using turbo tax for years and this is the only time I had problems....I was slightly disappointed
What's great about it: tech help on glitch was sucessful
What's not so great: glitch with MN form made it take alot longer than it should have

Don't like the changes

I have used Turbo Tax for at least 10 years and am generally pleased with the product. However I am not happy with the changes they made to this year's edition (2014). In previous versions, once you were done with your taxes there were tools available to project the upcoming year's taxes and make changes to your W4 if necessary, including the option to print it to hand them straight to HR. This option no longer exists in this version and I am disappointed about that change.
What's great about it: Easy to use; trust that information is correct
What's not so great: Removed tools to plan for next year--revising W4's, etc.
