Very easy to use!

So glad I tried Turbo Tax for the first time this year! It was so much more pleasant than sitting with someone else for 3 hours trying to get my taxes done and paying them too much money to do a simple return.
What's great about it: Questions were point on, made things so clear and easy to answer.
What's not so great: None!

Refund quick and easy

I've been using Turbotax for nearly 10 years. Up to that point, I had my taxes done by an accountant because I felt so intimidated by doing my own taxes and fearful of making a mistake. For the years I've been doing Turbotax I have never had an audit or problem with any refund or payment. I recommend Turbotax to everyone I know.
What's great about it: It's thorough, accurate and so easy to use.
What's not so great: Updates are frequent but I'm glad Turbotax is on he ball

Terrible experience

I used Turbo tax for years but this is the last year that I will use it. I couldnt get the CD software to download although I could get other software programs to download.. Bought an on line download and one problem after another. At one time, I could not even access the program to file my State return . Many frustrations and I am done with it

2014 Tax Review

The installation was simple and straightforward.
I especially liked the fact that the program guided me through each step.
The only thing I didn't like was finding out I had to have the Deluxe version in order to itemize. I never had to do that with past versions. Had I known that up front, I would have purchased the Deluxe Version initially. I already knew before I started that I would itemize deductions.
What's great about it: Guidence through each step
What's not so great: Need for Deluxe Version to itemize

another year, another quick and easy refund

Been using TurboTax since 1999 on my old Dell PC. Used the PC version on my VM (Parallels) for a few years. Finally switched over to using it on my iMac several years ago and there have been no glitches between versions.
I have been an "evangelist" for it for several years and many people have switched over to using it, even those who used accountants and other tax preparers before.
It's always been a great and reliable product for me.
What's great about it: downloadable; updated easily; easy walk through
What's not so great: never know when the "latest update" is sufficiently ready for filing taxes;

Piece of cake

When importing data from Quicken, it is important to check the entries carefully because if the Quicken entries are wrong, so will the Turbotax entries. This is particularly important for Quicken Tax information. (Garbage in -- garbage out)
I think my comment in the "Cons" box needs to be considered by Turbotax. As a minimum, if data that was entered using FORMS is inadvertently changed when switching to ONE STEP, some sort of alert or warning needs to pop up. The user can get trapped in this situation without ever realizing it. I'm glad I noticed it. In the future, I will use only FORMS and never switch back and forth again. So there!
What's great about it: Keeping format about the same from year-to-year is a big plus, unlike Quicken.
What's not so great: When switching between FORMS and ONE STEP, undesired changes to return entries can be made. Bad problem. (See below)
