I am extremely unhappy that you have to pay to file your state return now.The cost of Turbo Tax has gone up and there are fewer options year after year.
I have been using Turbo Tax for 20 years now and may consider using another program due to these changes.

Good, but....

I like the software, second year I'm using it. But there is a problem with NYC pensions for a retired Correction Officer. When asked where the distribution came from, there is NO choice for a Correction Officer. I had to 'trick' the software to fill in
NY State IT201 line 26 by checking off NYC VSF, which is very misleading. Please add a clear choice for this type of pension distribution. I did not do this last year, and now will be amending my 2013 NYS return, in order to get an additional refund. Two years in a row for an error is one year too much!

What's great about it: easy and quick
What's not so great: one flaw regarding NYC Uniformed Services pension

Great Working With TurboTax

It was easy to work with TurboTax. There were a few questions that I had, but I was able to find my answers. I wish there was a way of finding out about a certain charity without having to ask another person or trying to find the information from the IRS. My charity was a form of a 501c3 and the IRS was less than informative. Other than that question and maybe making the Union Dues easier to find so I can claim them, I had an easy time with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Had easy to answer questions
What's not so great: I wasn't sure about a few items

was very easy to install and get going. didn't like the printing option before the saving option.
What's great about it: was able to follow quit welll
What's not so great: i wish we could have deducted more items

EASY EASY EASY!

I guess my taxes are pretty simple. I really like the fact that turbotax walks me through every step. The explanations are written in a way that I can easily understand some of the more unusual situations.
What's great about it: took only a couple of hours
What's not so great: no cons!

I've been filing through Turbo Tax for a number of years now. I look forward to doing it this way. The step by step process is so easy, and the checking for errors part almost guarantees that it will be done right, the first time.

Glitches

You need to correct "glitch/script error"" pop-up and having to backtrack all over the place just to get back where you were or it won't e-file you forms. I've been using TurboTax since 2010 and this is the first year with all the #hassle# at the end of the process. Hopefully you'll correct this prior to next years filing. Thank you.
What's great about it: Relatively simple.
What's not so great: Pop-up/"Script" error and notice that You cannot e-file at very end of procedure makes it complicated to nevigate around
