For persons with foreign income and tax not very good.
I wanted to use tax defend but could not pay because I could not find my password etc.

What's great about it: The question by question way of filling in forms etc.
What's not so great: Explanations often unclear, especially about foreign tax paid
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Been using Turbo Tax for years and every year there are positive improvements that continue to help with many tax situations.
What's great about it: step by step walk through makes it very user friendly
What's not so great: could have better reminders to double check birthdays and SSN's

In previous years, I was a contract employee, but not this year.
TurboTax kept telling me I needed to upgrade, even though I
had no 1099 to report.

What's great about it: Seemed much easier this year, quicker.
What's not so great: When got the message to upgrade from TurboTax Delux, took awhile to get out of request.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Need Provision for Direct Pay payments made to IRS

I made a Direct Payment against estimated taxes for 2014. However, I could not find any provision for this in my Turbo Tax program. It would be nice if I could include this somewhere in the program including the IRS Confirmation Number and it would adjust the amount due (or refund) accordingly.

I know that tax law changes from year to year,
However there is some to saying I heard " if is not broken don't fix it" and it seems that some times Intuit is looking of Things to fix that are not really needed.
I' been using Turbotax for over 10 years and this year found impossible to transfer my information. and communication with help is cumbersom.

Had to refile state return!

All and all Turbotax is great for the average homeowner! However Turbotax needs to confirm All Tax Forms are UPDATED prior to Efiling.The program ran the updates..However it never updated the State forms and Efiled them anyway.I wasn't aware of this until I printed a copy for my files and saw the water marks on the forms.Had to wait a week for the Rejection Notice,but then Turbotax did notify me.We went over the forms...everything updated...reEfiled at no additional charge.Thanks for standing behide your product Turbotax!!
What's great about it: If you can read...You can do your own taxes!!!
What's not so great: Turbotax needs to make sure Fed and STATE forms are updated!

So Easy and Quick

I have used Turbo Tax for years and the ability to call up the last return's items makes it so much easier.
What's great about it: If you are prepared, it is so easy and quick to do your return
What's not so great: you must be prepared but that is true of any return method
