It was Easy!!

My sister has used Turbo Tax for years and kept telling me how easy and simple it was. I am not a real good computer person, and sometimes have problems with installation of things. I really feared that and then not being able to get through actually doing my tax return on her. But I have to say it was great, easy and I feel it was complete and thorough. I will be using it again next year!!
What's great about it: Written so anyone can understand it and the walk-thru was very nice. Felt it was complete and accurate.
What's not so great: Just a couple areas I was not sure how to respond, mostly with the small pension I receive from my deceased husband.

Nice!

I have a financial background and used to love to do my taxes by hand and computer. Now, i don't see myself doing my taxes without using TurboTax!
What's great about it: Getting the hard questions asked to me easily!
What's not so great: Having the system waiting on ME to get my information together!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Estimated Tax Process Difficult

The information and directions for processing payments for the next tax year is not easy to locate and authorize. After I located the needed section and completed the application, I was able to authorize estimated payments for federal taxes only.
In the future, I would like the same opportunity to apply for State estimated tax payments.
I had this opportunity using TaxAct for many years. I will only use Turbo Tax in 2015 if those opportunities exist.

Happy as a Long Time User

When going through sections like Income and Expenses, as each new type is added (at the bottom) the user is left at the top of the page and must scroll down to the new section. I would be better if the screen were to be displayed from the bottom up. That way the user could just click on the new section without having to scroll to the bottom of the page

Poor communication from company. Big publicity of suspending e-filing of state returns but no communication that it had resumed

Overall, very happy

Overall I am very happy with this software and e-file service. I have been using Turbo Tax since the mid-late 1990's. Like most every other user, I was disappointed that the Deluxe version no longer contained the basic investment forms, but was very happy when Intuit realized this was a mistake and returned this function through an update. I was also very happy with how quickly the state e-file issue was corrected.
What's great about it: Software guidance is clear and easy to follow. Online help is pretty helpful. Ease of online filing is great!
What's not so great: Problem this year with hackers, but was fixed very quickly. Would like it easier to go directly to a form.
