Easy to use. Easy to file. Not sure if my NY state return will bounce back though. It was unfortunate there were some issues with hackers this year.

We have been using Turbotax for years now after finding out that the CPA we were paying for years was using this very same software! It is no wonder that this package is the most popular tax software among all the people we know. Thank you to Intuit for all you do!

Concerned About Identity Protection Pin

Have been using Turbo Tax for over 20 years. It shows impact of actions on taxes immediately. Keeps track of numbers and calculations even when you bounce back and forth from on section to another.
My biggest doubt about the 2014 version is I was unable to get any assurance that my IRS issued Identity Protection Pin was transmitted with my E-file data. It never appears on any printed documents, but it did appear on my 1040 when I clicked on "Forms" and looked at the 1040. That's the only place I saw it after I entered it into the file. Even though I saw is on the form It always disappeared whenever I tried to print the 1040. Very anxious!!
If it were not for the concern over the ID Protection Pin, I would have given Turbo Tax five stars.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: No confidence my Identity Protection Pin was transmitted to IRS when I E-filed

True Review

Easy to use and gets the job done reasonably fast. I purchased 2 cd's to do my taxes and my daughter's. Did not get a free state with the second cd and was forced to purchase one before I could file my return.
What's great about it: Mostly easy to use
What's not so great: I purchased two cd's to do 2 different returns and was forced to purchase a state to get my taxes filed.

Mostly Easy and Logical, BUT . . .

During the REVIEW Process, there was an error on the Dividend Worksheet. I spent hours trying to find the original entry, but could not trace it back.
FINALLY, the next day, after spending 90 minutes on the phone with a very patient, customer service oriented Tax Advisor from TurboTax, the problem was resolved.
This problem originated during the download phase of my dividends and could have been avoided or, at least, make easier to find, through some sort of backtracking feature.
What's great about it: Step by Step easy to answer questions and download of informaton from previous year.
What's not so great: Error during REVIEW Process with no way to trace back to error.

So Easy!

After all I was hearing on the news this year about the changes Turbo Tax made to its products I was concerned that I had not purchased a product that would meet my needs. But, the product I have been using (Deluxe) continued to meet my needs without having to pay extra. Once I had my paperwork in order it took me only 2 hours to enter, finish and file both my federal and state returns. Love it! I would hate to have to go back to filing by hand, Turbo Tax has been my tax preparer for almost a decade!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax asks all the right questions
What's not so great: Too bad filing fees can't be taken off state refund instead of just federal return.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
