Are you kidding me?

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have always been happy with the ease of use. I like the e-filing because it made the process streamlined and quick. This year I had problems I have never encountered before and it was frustrating to find the answers to my problems was consistant-dump all the work you just did and start all over! Not cool, Turbo Tax, not cool!

What's not so great: Downloaded updated were a nightmare this year. Also the program freezing issues after updates were frustrating.

TurboTax2014 is Better than Ever, But...

This is my 20th year using TurboTax. Each year it has gotten better. My tax situation is fairly simple and I do not use Quicken, but do use Its Deductible online which allows me to enter my deductible expenditures as I make them. The program is highly intuitive and makes it easy to walk through the needed data. Each year, however, there always seems to be at least one area where I enter the data in one place and on the final check, have to enter it again. Finally, why, when my state accepts e-filing for free do I have to pay to e-file my state return? That just bugs me.
What's great about it: Easier than ever to organize paperwork and enter it; more intuitive screens; better help more easily accessed
What's not so great: Still seems to have some info that has to be entered multiple times; paying for state efiling
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Always reliable

As a former tax pro, I have used TurboTax for over 15 years to file my personal and family returns. I enjoy the step-by-step process and find it thorough even though I enter most information in Forms. The pre-filing review is a comfort that insures I haven't missed anything.

You may have already created such a support, but I haven't looked for it. I know I have learned by trial and error. For example under medical; a program that
1. helped you understand when you might have a deductible
2. what records are needed and possible where to find them.

Sounds too simple!
What's great about it: The program seems to have identified all possibilities. With all records in hand, it is an easy and quick process.
What's not so great: A primer created by using the questions the TT questions would help folks get organized throughout the year.

Everything was great except for the new State Form filing feature. Did not have to do this in all the years I have been using Turbo Tax. Having to call in to get a code is very troublesome. Hope it is changed back to the old way next year.

Turbo Tax is the way to go. Each year is easier then the last.
Your records are stored and pop up the next tear without having to re-enter all the basic information. If you think you missed something, you go right back as far as you want.
It is a pleasure doing taxes this way
