TurboTax rocks!!!

TurboTax keeps getting better and better. It's no longer a chore to do taxes. As the user-friendly screens take out all the guesswork in every element of preparation, I trust it completely to get my taxes done right. I would not use anything else. I always highly recommend TurboTax to others!
What's great about it: Very user friendly. Everything is spelled out, with neat pop-ups to refresh your memory on the more obscure tax items.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used Turbo Tax for many years going back to the time when it was called Intuit.
The hardest part is always the local income tax form. This year I had to find an up-todate Grand Rapids City income tax form and copy all the information into it by hand in order to file. I see that it has now been updated. (too late for me).

You Make It Easy

Turbo Tax Deluxe is a perfect program for us. We have a very simple - doesn't change from year to year - return. So bringing in data from the prior year is helpful and guiding us through the areas that we had from last year is time saving.
Even though we never exceed the standard deduction, it is a good exercise to do the itemization.
The updates are never smooth and often require a second attempt for them to complete.
Hope you improve your security so that we don't hear on the news that Turbo Tax is getting "hacked".
I have been a customer for over 15 years and enjoy doing my taxes with your program.

A Little Disappointed

I've used Turbo Tax for several years now and have never been as frustrated as I was this year. When entering the refund that I received from my state last year it kept asking for business or farm, which I had received neither. After going back over it several times -- I was able to determine that it was in fact a second entry, not the initial state refund amount. What a huge waste of time! Then when I was finished with my state return, I needed to file a city return, and only one of my jobs came up, hence the income amount was incorrect. I only discovered this after I printed the forms. Not sure why, but the prior years forms were much easier to use.
What's great about it: I liked the transfer of some info from last year's form.
What's not so great: This year's version was much more difficult to understand.

Software is good but only the one problem I found with the error check when taxes are completed for review.
What's great about it: 2013 reiviewed and directly to the error to correct.
What's not so great: 2014 - I have had a problem with the review check for errors.

Why I choose this method every year

I file with turbo tax every year and every year its a positive experience. This year I especially dreaded filing due to purchasing a new home but I actually found it pretty easy with this software. My only recommendation would be to get more in depth with the state returns too. Sometimes the questions on the state forms are confusing and its less interactive. For me it makes things more difficult because I don't fully understand what I could or shouldn't be getting. Overall though it was a positive experience and i will do it again next year.
What's great about it: Federal Return is super easy, The forms are explained and labeled, tons of questions that are easy to answer
What's not so great: State return is more complex to file
