Turbo tax almost lost me this year by omitting some of schedules and forms.

Super simple

Have used TurboTax for the last several years and love it. Get the same results as we had when we used a CPA, though we save over $100 by using the program.
What's great about it: Broke down everything step by step - KISS principle in place here

Turbo Tax made it very easy for me to complete taxes for our family with a double income, our own children and 4 foster children. I like how a link for an explanation is available for each situation. For a very busy mother, this was what I needed to get my taxes done. I feel that I always get the best refund possible because of the questions asked by the program. I also like that there are people available to chat if I need help.
What's great about it: Easy to figure out how to claim foster children
What's not so great: Not clear on claiming vehicle used for business and depreciation

Very good--but state taxes needed a bit more work

We like the way the TurboTax walks you through the steps. However, we were confused in a couple of spots, particularly on deductions for educational expenses and whether or not we could claim expenses for our daughter who just graduated. But overall Federal filing was very good.
Unfortunately, we found the state filing to be sorely lacking in explanation. We liked that the tool carried forward info from the federal return and populated it in the state return; however, it would have been extremely helpful if it had summarized what info it was pre-populating before moving on. (We had to view the actual forms to verify that our 2013 state refund was accounted for.) Also, TurboTax was prepared to allow us to file by mail when we claimed the Enterprise Zone tax credit. The Colorado Dept of Revenue website clearly states that if you are claiming that credit you MUST file electronically. Glad we knew this or we would have been ineligible to claim it. Major mistake!
Until this year we have always had an outstanding experience with TurboTax. We will still purchase the product next year, but are hoping the overall product quality is returned to its former state for the 2015 tax year.

What's not so great: Help & Explanations could stand to be a bit more precise

Found the software very helpful although most people don't feel good about a 10min install and have to run updates immediately.
What's great about it: done at home on my own
What's not so great: brand new laptop had trouble downloading...fees still apply for filing

Easy Tax Filing UX - AWESOME

Cons:
When it comes to AMT - it makes me reference lines on forms that are not generated when I said Save All Forms from previous filing.

Taxes and life are two facts we can't avoid. But with this product at least one of them got easier! It was so nice to see side by side yearly comparisons to help you along.
