I cannot be sure the taxes are completely correct since the version changed from past year.
What's great about it: looks similar to previous years

I've been using TurboTax for many years. I rely on it to take care of me tax wise, helps me remember what I've done in previous years, and carries forward information so I don't have to resurrect it. I've never had a problem since I've used TurboTax.
What's great about it: Fast, easy, it reminds you, saves your previous year's info.

Deluxe Turbo Tax is easy to use

Both my husband and myself are retired military. In the State of Oregon a part of our retirement is not taxable based upon when we served in the military. Turbo tax could not be used so we did return for Oregon manually. Now turbo tax can compute the percentages; however, do not use since we need to use the same percentages each year and do not want to use the program and possibly have a different percentage appear. If would be nice to be able to input the percentage that retirees have been using to compute the taxable retirement. At this point, I can only use the Deluxe to compute federal taxes.
What's great about it: Doing federal taxes is extremely easy and quick
What's not so great: Cannot use for filing State taxes in Oregon

Very Simple to use and found every deduction available for me.
6th or 7th Year of using Turbo Tax and it gets better every year!

First Time

For a first time user I asked my Dad for some help, he got it started and within ten minutes we were done. It was also free to e-file which mean saving a tree somewhere which I like to do as much as possible.
What's great about it: Easy to Understand
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Disappointed

I was very disappointed that you upped the price so much this year amd required a version upgrade from last year to do the same complexity of return. If this continues next year, I will try some other software. I have been using TT for more than 20 years, maybe 30 years, and this has never happened before. We'll see how it turns out.
What's great about it: program is excellent
What's not so great: pricing is too high and requiring more expensive version this year

Easy Interview Approach!

We've been using TurboTax on the Mac since it first started - we originally used MacInTax! It has always been easy to use and has reliably brought info forward for us through the years. In recent years, we've also put donations in through It's Deductible, which makes it easy to track that info. I keep a handwritten list attached to each receipt, and go through the list, entering items as I go.
For the Income and the Deductions portions, the Interview process makes life easy. Then we stop and go back to "I'll do it Myself". This shows us each section compared to the previous year. We can feel confident our numbers make sense, or go back and review an area to understand why it is different. Then we continue in the interview style to review and file.
In the Interview, there are supplemental information options at every step of the way. Mostly, these are extremely helpful. However, occasionally, the govt regulations are the only thing shown, and are not very clear. That part could use a little more "beefing up".
Overall, we really prefer doing our taxes this way than any other method.
