Import of previous year's data did not include all of the 1099Rs that I entered that year in Turbo Tax. I had to enter 2 for this year that were used last year. I do not recall having to do this for the same circumstance in previous years. Entry for line 10, Taxable refunds, was not treated correctly. TT 2014 wanted to enter the full amount of my last year's state income tax return, and would not take no for an entry until I entered 0. Later TT 2014 acknowledged that I had used state general sales tax as a deduction last year. After research, 1040 instructions for 2014 clearly state that a state refund is not taxable if general sales taxes were used as a Schedule A deduction.
What's great about it: Good coverge of topics
What's not so great: Import and use of previous year's TT return info. Processing of taxable reund data.

This is the easiest tax program that I have ever used. The questions make sure nothing is missed. This is a great product.
What's great about it: Easy to edit when completed. Takes all the information from your Federal return to the State return
What's not so great: Expensive compared to other tax programs

Reliable, Easy to Use

Turbo Tax is the leading tax product in my opinion. I am a tax attorney and could certainly do the taxes manually but significantly easier with Turbo Tax. Guides are useful and do a good job of explaining the nuances of different items. Only con I have is that they add the extra charge to electronically file a state tax return. I would prefer they were more up front and included that cost as they did several years ago.
What's great about it: Guided walk through is helpful
What's not so great: Extra cost for filing state return
