How Easy

When I first used Turbo Tax, I was very nervous. It was the first time I had done them since our accountant. retired.. This is my seventh year of doing them. I have never had any problems in filing. Our returns were deposited in the time frame they said they would.. I will continue using Turbo Tax .
What's great about it: I found doing our taxes very easy to do

need help with withholding

It would really help if, after completing my returns, TurboTax would then help me compute if and how I should change my allowances for the current year (so that I do not owe when I file my return), and maybe even update that throughout the year (as tax laws change).
For example: for 2013, I had to pay $1300 in federal tax. So, for 2014, I reduced my federal allowances from 10 to 9 (which should have increased my withholding). However, apparently due to some tax law changes, at the end of the year, my withholding actually DEcreased by $800 (compared to 2013)! Because of that -- and losing the child tax credit -- I have to pay $2900 this year. Gulp!
I would love it if -- after my return is finished -- TurboTax would make suggestions as to changing that allowance, so that I do NOT owe taxes next year.

Caught off guard

I purchased Turbo Tax Basic like I have every year for the past 10 years. I was disappointed to find out that it no longer worked for people who itemized and I had to pay FULL cost to get Deluxe to complete my taxes. I would have expected to at least get a credit for what I had already spent needlessly on the Basic.
What's great about it: Taxes were easy to complete as expected
What's not so great: Turbo Tax Basic didn't have what I needed like before

Got 'er done!

Would like to see some qualifying questions asked FIRST in regards to some itemizing items, such as Medical expenses. If I had known that I must have more than 7.5% of my adjusted income to realize a deduction, I would not have bothered assembling that info.
What's great about it: Importing history and forms.
What's not so great: Disconcerting sometimes when you can't see the results on the actual form(s) as you are entering information.

Why not just add that costs to the total price Instead of that great $19.99 surprise at the end.
