I use Turbo Tax annually because it works for me and is efficient.
What's great about it: Easily navigated, attempted to be thorough.
What's not so great: Not as intuitive as in former years. Seems like I had to hunt for topics I knew were important to consider

on your tv commercial the ad said file your taxes totally free but I was charge to file my state taxes. not happy.

NOT HAPPY WITH THIS YEAR'S VERSION

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years, and this is the first year I have not been happy with it. It was not nearly as user friendly, and it had some "easy to miss" areas that caused me trouble. After I printed and manually checked my return, I found errors and was able to receive an additional $3000 in refund. This was due to a small box that I neglected to check for a 1099G. In the past, I could easily see the status of all the various entries I made. This was a big disappointment, and I don't know why you had to "improve" something that already worked great. What happened at Intuit??
What's great about it: still better than doing manually
What's not so great: lack of confidence in outcome ... did manually anyway

Quick and easy is the way to go

I like using TurboTax as it is easy to understand and so easy to use. I know others that use accountants or other programs. I prefer using this program as I know it is reliable.

Takes the fear out of filling with out headaches

It is a breeze filing my taxes using Turbo Tax. I feel comfortable hitting the send button. That says a lot!! I have used Turbo Tax for years now and will continue. I love the carry over of information year to year.
What's great about it: Easy to follow steps. Explanation of questions as you complete the areas. Electronic filing really convenient.
What's not so great: Can't think of any!

Federal was OK, State was poor

I've used Turbo Tax for many years, and the experience has not improved, but with the exception of the efile issue with the state, has not gotten worse. The fact that I had to paper file the State because of the CS form was ridiculous. An update should have been created to address this, if it was not possible to address before software release.

What's not so great: Could not efile state
