Quick and EASY

13th year of TurboTax not as easy as the first 12

This is the 13th year I have used TurboTax. Once loaded the software was as easy to use and as efficient as ever. The CD version said it would work on Vista OS. I tried for over two hours and had no success in loading the program using the CD. I received numerous different error messages and tried to call TurboTax. The estimated hold time was over two hours. In the end I think the issue was my old laptop was a 32 bit machine and TurboTax appeared to have issues with this. I loaded it on my wife's laptop with Windows 8 and TurboTax worked like a champ. Previously I always purchased the Deluxe edition and was concerned this year whether I would have to upgrade. In the end I didn't but was still upset with what TurboTax had done. Will I buy TurboTax next year - yes if TurboTax lives up to their promise to include schedule D in the Deluxe edition.
What's great about it: Detailed, thorough, easy to answer questions
What's not so great: Would not upload to Vista 32-bit machine

Simple retunr

Unhappy with changing the forms available in the Turbo Tax Deluxe. Also thought one free state return was included but got charged. Will look for an alternative way to e-file next year.
What's great about it: No problem entering data and processing a simple return.
What's not so great: Changing the Turbo Tax Deluxe
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great job this year.

I have used the product for many years and enjoy doing taxes through Turbo Tax, that is, as much as anyone can enjoy doing taxes. Turbo Tax is thorough and easy to use. I plan to continue to use the product as long as I have to file taxes.
What's great about it: Gets easier to use each year.
What's not so great: No cons for me.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Check last year state income tax return

It makes no sense to ask us to validate a calculation when you do not show us the values that went in to making up the calculation.
What's great about it: The pre-calculates the value and asks you to validate it against last years return
What's not so great: In the text it also states that it likely will not match last years return as other values contribute to it.

This was my first year using Turbo Tax. It was a breeze. The biggest problem I had was waiting for all the paperwork to show up in the mail. Thank you again so much for making Turbo Tax so user friendly.
What's great about it: Loved that you walked me through everything! You made it so easy for me to file mine and my husbands taxes.
What's not so great: Could use more of the life changes up front. ie.. did you get married?

All in all the experience was very good even though I'm talking about TAXES!
