Solid Help.. Fast!

If your tax situation is relatively straight forward or you have a fair bit of knowledge about tax prep, this is the tool for you!!
What's great about it: Comprehensive and asks the right quesstions all the way through!!
What's not so great: Not entirely sure I didn't overlook something.......It would take a live person to do better than the software.

I've used TurboTax for the last 5 years and have had no problems at all. It takes you through the process step by step if needed and double checks your return. Plus you can E-file your federal for free. We always just get a check in the mail for our State if we don't have to pay. Awesome program!!

Fix the install process and the startup time

Why does turbo tax need to have administrator privileges in order to install? Same with updates! If the computer is used by a single user, and the user is an administrator then it is fine. But, I share this computer with my girlfriend (separate computer accounts) and I had to do all the install and updates through my account (even if I ran the install and updates on her account as admin).
And why does it take so long to start up? It just sits there displaying a banner that tells me that it is taking a little bit longer - really?!? You had to tell me that? The banner is annoying after the third time. My computer is fast with lots of RAM, Disk space, and nothing else running (no viruses either) - and it still takes a long time to start. I'd hate to run Turbo Tax on an older machine.
But, I have to admit - Once it starts working it works quite well. Easy to use. Just getting it started is painful.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Difficult to install, Slow to start
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

So easy!!

Doing our taxes is easy, and weirdly enough, I enjoy watching the refund amount change as you enter your information. An hour and we're done!
What's great about it: TurboTax walks you through every part of the tax process.
What's not so great: None!

Sped up the process

Using Turbo Tax is great! It stinks thought that we have to pay $486.00 in penalty for one of us not having health insurance. Wes' job did not offer health insurance and Debbie's job did not offer for spouses or family to be added. We could not afford to buy health care through the Oregon Health Plan!
What's great about it: It is a faster way to file.
What's not so great: I don't know of any.

17 years of use

This is February when I started my taxes including the program download. Everything was done in a few hours on a Sunday. Had a few questions and a problem to work out. Called customer support tax on the phone and had everything answered and corrected. Did not spend much time on the phone.
Out of 17 years using turbo tax, I cannot remember calling for help. Everything worked out well. I will be back next year
