I've used TurboTax for several years, using the same desktop computer. Each year, the current version of TurboTax transfers my demographic information from the prior year (name, address, etc.) and fills in those fields for me. So it "knows" I live in Alaska. Yet, each year, I have to search for how to enter my Alaska Dividend. Since TurboTax knows I live in Alaska, it should know to ask me for the dividend information instead of making me remember myself and search for where to enter it.
What's great about it: Information pop-ups
What's not so great: Not intuitive enough

Once I gathered my information, it was such a breeze. I had no difficulties, at all. I had read some negative reviews this year, and I had heard about Intuit suspending State e-filings, so I was a little afraid. But, I stuck with what I know (I have been using TurboTax for 12 years), and it could not have been easier! Thanks for another great year!
What's great about it: Fast installation and updating. Thorough and trustworthy.
What's not so great: Cannot think of one.

fixed what wasnt broken

When I used the "back" key and went forward again, it took me to screens and questions I didn't get the first time. The whole thing was less clear than in years past. The layout was more cumbersome. Also seems in years past each step of the way had these happy dude icon characters that gave you happy and encouraging words and made it very personable with shaded raised bubble keys to click on and cool graphics. Now it only gives you a more mechanical update and layout of what's going on. Just like any successful product, they have to keep trying to fix what wasn't broken. go back to what it was in years past and you will get a 5 star.
What's great about it: thorough, generally trustworthy, easy filing
What's not so great: becoming less user friendly

Good Product

I love turbo tax but I was more than a little disappointed with certain features were not included in basic this year and made available only in deluxe. We had to pay double the price we normally pay because we were force to buy Deluxe since Basic removed these features.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Prices went up
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I was charged for the return even though it states I get e fee efiles (federal) and 1 tax.
