Love Turbo Tax

Everyone hates to pay taxes, however I recommend turbo tax to my family and friends all the time. It does not get any easier than this!

quick, easy and accurate

I love this program and have been using it for years, it gets better and more easy every year. What a relief it is to be able to get this done and know it is accurate
What's great about it: simple instructions and progression of steps
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Get my money back

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and I am always nervous, but haven't had any issues with returns. Not always sure I am really claiming everything I could. I like that I can do it in the comfort of my own home and take as much time as I need.
What's great about it: Seemed relatively easy. Like I don't have to re-enter info
What's not so great: Some deduction descriptions somewhat unclear.

Thorough, yet takes too long

While I am always pleased about how thorough TurboTax is, it takes too long even to prepare a simple return. I can typically prepare my taxes faster by hand than by using TurboTax. I would like to see TurboTax not ask about assets in a foreign bank account or other unusual situations so much. A large majority of filers have no assets in a foreign bank account, but anyone with income for 2014 must at least look at this question (sometimes more than once) in order to proceed. Only situations that actually apply to most or all filers should be shown to everyone (i.e. health insurance coverage requirement for 2014 or the question about wage income from a W-2). Please make the process more efficient for filers like me with a simple situation but allow people with complex tax situations the opportunity to explore the advanced features of TurboTax as needed to take care of their unique tax situations.
What's great about it: TurboTax is always thorough and helps ensure that everything gets entered.
What's not so great: Took significantly longer to prepare my returns this year even though my tax situation this year was simpler.

Don't try to fool your customers by stripping down versions and not telling anybody. Sounds like a money grab. You have a good product, don't mess with it.
Also, why does it keep prompting me to fill out a state income tax form when my state doesn't have an income tax?

TurboTax Deluxe is great!

I've been using TurboTax for many years, and I notice how it improves each year. It's just a minor thing, but I appreciate being reminded at the end that I'll be prompted to print a copy for my records so I don't print a "review copy" unnecessarily. I can't imagine filling out my tax forms manually like I used to. TurbTax has spoiled me!
