My return rejected

E-file was rejected because I put in the wrong Employer's ID number. I was immediately notified of this error and was able to correct it for refiling.
What's great about it: Nice and easy.

I had to go to help where I typed in my question about the "pension withdrawal", and found almost the same question with a satisfactory answer. This should have been better explained without going to HELP.
What's great about it: great
What's not so great: Only problem I had was when you called the pension payment a withdrawal and if it was all for the rmd.

Larry's Review

This is the fifth year that I have used Turbo Tax and it has always be a real benefit for me. I used to do it using all the different publications, etc. What a pain. Usually took a week or more to do my taxes, and then I wasn't confident I had covered all the bases. This time it took me about three hours.
Thank you. It is worth it.
What's great about it: Allowed me to go back and forth to allow see what differences I could generate.

It did my return

After you have entered something on a line in either income or deductions, when you click on finished for that line it takes you back to the top of that area so that you have to scroll all the way back down to the next line. That's a real pain in the derriere if you know what I mean. Also, could you put a question in at the beginning of deductions that asks if you want to enter deductions or just take the standard deduction. Although I have quite a few deductions, house, charities and so on, the last couple of years the standard deduction has far outweighed all of my other deductions. And since my deductions are going down and the standard deduction has gone up, I see no sense of going through the whole rigmarole to enter any deductions when the standard deduction gives me a better deal. So a way to bypass all that would be greatly appreciated. Or should I just go to a simpler filing form?
What's great about it: Quick and efficient
What's not so great: Some things lengthy

I had read reviews that this years Turbo Tax was incomplete and did not have all the forms and information to do 2014 taxes so was leery about using it but since I have been using Turbo Tax since it first came out, decided to use again this year. I am well satisfied with the product and do recommend to my friends.
What's great about it: quick and simple
What's not so great: a little expensive

TurboTax Deluxe 2014

In general, TurboTax is a relatively straightforward program to use to prepare both Federal and state income tax forms. I have used the program with relatively few hitches for the past 5 or 6 years. However, if TurboTax Deluxe could no longer let me enter my capital gains for the few stocks and mutual funds I own, I would seriously consider using another company's product.
What's great about it: You can choose to have the program take you step-by-step throught the process of entering your tax data.
What's not so great: The list of charities to which gifts have been given cannot be alphabetized. Nor can you record dates & check #.

Used Turbo Tax for last 15 years. Always been pleased with ease of use. However this year seemed to be a bit off. Did not insert or prompt last year's info or downloads as before.
Will definitely use again next year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I've used TurboTax for several years. The import function makes getting started easy. There are simple explanations to help me understand tax questions I would never figure out on my own.
I started my return online, but it was different from the program I'm so familiar with. Thank you for your release of the CD-ROM version.
What's great about it: TurboTax asks questions in terms I understand
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
