Hate Taxes, Love TurboTax

Having used TurboTax for 8 tax years, I find it more seamless and easy to use than my life changes through this time. From buying and selling two homes, to becoming an independent contractor and my wife changing jobs four times during this period, everything worked well, even doing the partial year state tax forms when we moved out of and into three states. Even though I consider myself very honest when I fill out my taxes, there was always the thought that I did something wrong when I did the taxes myself. TurboTax is like having a buddy that used to work in the IRS and can tell you the simple way to get it all done quickly.
What's great about it: Accurate addition, easy to access just what I need, and nothing else.
What's not so great: Still a little cumbersome on charitable contributions, but probably more the government's fault than yours.

Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo tax for over 10 years and will continue to use this product. It has been a very reliable product that is easy to use and keeps current with all of the on going Federal and State tax laws.
What's great about it: Very user friendly. Covers all of the bases
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Also has issues with 1099G & appropriate place to annotate State or local tax refund when box on State form is different from box expected by TurboTax
What's great about it: Just about everything
What's not so great: didn't cover mortage points well especially when not (properly) indicated on form 1098 substitute.

As usual for many years Turbo is great and I enjoy doing taxes myself and save $
What's great about it: basic set up for personal entries
What's not so great: the way of printing total taxes before filing--wierd to go through directions and then find how to do after starting efi

Great product, but disappointed that I could not use my credit card to pay for the filing. After multiple attempts I finally gave up and had to use the deduct from refund method which conveniently cost an additional $35.
What's not so great: wont let me use my credit card to file, only the deduct from refund option works

General Suggestions

This is especially true in business expenses. For those of us who work from home and office, we should have a way to skip all the depreciation stuff and go to listed expense. I for one do not want to deduct my office/ home expenses but just deduct my actual tracked car and office expenses.
Adjust your E-Filling to reflect IRS cut offs in using the E-filling. You cannot use E-filling for a 2013 file after November of 2014. Also, filing jointly the AGA is not made clear if it is one or both of you.
Thanks for the letter explaining your screw-up.
Also, it says, Married and also living with partner no longer can be used in WS. for tax purposes.
