Arkansas law appears to say that you CANNOT take the "65 Special" tax credit if you also take the $6,000 reduction to IRA distributions. However, TurboTax applies BOTH.
Isn't this an error?
Also, if you enter the Arkansas Car Tag charge #"Registration Fee"# as TurboTax requests, TurboTax adds it to Taxes under deductions. Appears Arkansas Car Tag expenses are NOT deductible. Isn't this an error in TurboTax?

When copying my returns (federal and state), the printer spit out garbage. Some pages were OK and others were illegible. The state says "do not file" and "form not final", but it doesn't tell me how to fix the problem. When I ran the check, it said tat the only problem that I had was that the school $ I put down was ineligible for e-filing, but that I could print a copy, and mail it in. Also, in this survey, it asks if I have kids. I have kids, but they don't live with me.
What's great about it: Maximized my refund.
What's not so great: Copies seem to lack, and other issues-see below.

Fun to use!

I have been using Turbo Tax for 15 years, and although it seems to change every year, I like the challenge of doing it myself and understanding my tax situation. The changes are for the better.

I can not think of anything I would change with this software. Mostly because I am not a techno. guy. As a sales guy, I like things in presentation form. Step 1, Step 2, etc. That is why Turbo Tax is perfect for me. I use Turbo Tax Deluxe and it has everything I need as a wage earner, family man and homeowner.
What's great about it: Easy to follow prompts make for accurate results.
What's not so great: No cons. No gripes. If i had any complaints I wouldn't have used Turbo Tax for over 20 years.

It's the best!

I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years! I really enjoy the freedom I get from knowing I have everything covered. The questions are easy, and yet this is a very thorough tax prep software. I have used every form but the EZ form, (which I imagine to be just as simple) and I am delighted with it every year.
I just can't get over how well TT has covered the crazy health care section! We had a very convoluted scenario here, and TT made it work without me pulling out my hair.
The price is right, the filing is easy and fast, there are several ways to use it. I think this is the best solution for tax prep for almost everyone.
What's great about it: This is sssooo easy to use. Even with weird and wacky health care at my house, this year's taxes were a snap.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I realize there are numerous laws that change both the federal and state programs each year so it is imperative that the software leading you through the filing process be accurate and clear regarding what is needed for a particular line number. TurboTax seems to float through this process quite well with only a couple exceptions. The only surprise is at the end when tabulating the costs for filing the state tax return and the audit protection charge.
What's great about it: Lengthy but generally easy to follow
What's not so great: Print, especially help screens, is too small to read without magnifying lens
