Loaded from disk onto a Windows 8.1 desktop. Had problems getting forms and updates downloaded. Have Norton 360 on system had to shutdown the firewall to get forms and updates loaded. Took several attempts and about 3 hours of trials before got everything loaded!
What's great about it: Once got forms downloaded/Updates worked OK
What's not so great: Windows 8.1 is a problem

I have used Turbo Tax for years and love it. It easily walks you through all the steps and is quick and easy.
I did have to call the help line, waited almost 2 hours for a return call and the kid on the line was not that knowledgeable, although he did eventually get me the help I needed.
What's great about it: quick and easy
What's not so great: phone help

First time using Turbo Tax and will continue

All tax software is not created equal. For years I used a competing software package that is well known. But as a retired public safety officer I get to deduct a certain amount of my health insurance premiums that are deducted from my pension check. The other company has no provision for it and does not ask about it. I contacted their customer support last year and had to give them the IRS publication and they merely read it to me. While I could adjust my income per instructions on their form I had to hand write I the coding which meant I could not e-file! I had to print and mail my taxes. Then this year, with TurboTax it came right out and asked about the deduction, amended the return and allowed me to e-file. Friends had recommended Turbo Tax last year to me and I will now use it every year.
What's great about it: Easy to use and even asked about a specialized deduction that others don't
What's not so great: None that I could find

Slick Looking, but Disappointing

Most of the program was fairly easy to use, and the online help was good. However, some of my favorite features from H&R Block's software were missing or difficult to use.
The import of last year's data from .PDF did not work, causing me to have to dig out my past 3 years of tax returns in order to properly claim my education credit -- something which the Block software did automatically.
I also didn't like how many screens it took to finally e-file. The program always seemed to be about to file, then it would ask me something else.
It was also somewhat difficult for me to supply a password to a file that I had previously declined to supply a password for. It did not work the way I expected it to. If it had imported my data, I would have given it four stars. As it is, I feel three would be overly generous.
What's great about it: Attractive, easy-to-read displays
What's not so great: Program did not import my HR Block return from last year.

You have the choice to let TurboTax walk you through the process or you can decide individually which income or deduction topics to address. The help is also useful in helping to determine the scope of income and deduction topics.
What's great about it: easy to use
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Been using Turbo Tax for years. Love it especially as it copies in from last year. Greatest effort in doing taxes is preparation of documents needed. Entry into Turbo Tax is easy.
What's great about it: Everything is well laid out for entry.
What's not so great: None

Very confusing

It needs more direction on how to enter things like Charity, I noticed something was wrong when I saw $17,500 charity rather than $2,000. I needed to back up and figure out what was wrong on my own.
Also, your hyperlink boxes only opened up the Internal Revenue Service examples of how to decide on things. If I understood the Internal Revenue Service language, I would not be buying any software to do taxes, I’d just use their instructions. Understandable English for those of us who are not CPA’s or Attorneys is needed.
Somewhere in the IRS explanation of Earned Income Credit it said I could take that deduction, but your software said I did not qualify without any explanation of why not. Did I lose part of a refund? I have no idea.
What's great about it: It covers more things than other programs
What's not so great: Confusing, not enough How To in plain language.

Program is easy to use. Imports information from previous year. Double checked that information and it was all correct. As you enter your current year information and financials, the questions that are asked are easy to understand with good explanations attached as to why and what. Made doing our taxes a breeze.
What's great about it: Easy to use, like that it imports information from previous year,
