TurboTax for 2014

On the whole it is a well written program. The two places with some confusion were 1) when entering payments for a fixed pension, it asked if it were a RMD, which doesn't seem to apply to a pension payment. 2) when entering investment info, the questions did not seem to match the labels on the 1099 form. Hopefully, I got them all right.
What's great about it: The questions were laid out well as in the past. As always, there are checks along theway and at the end to catch errors
What's not so great: Questions about pension payments seemed to be conflated with IRA payments, but apparantly I answered correctly.

What-If ?

I've been using TT for about 10+ yrs and is always my 1st choice in tax prep software. I find it extremely easy to use, while allowing you to dig into the tax rules if desired. E-filing is so convenient. My tax situation made me consider changing my filing status so I used the "What-If" feature of the program. This indicated that I should change filing status but when I started a full return the numbers changed so dramatically I had to go back to my originally chosen filing status. Not sure what the issue was in the software but use caution when using the "what-if" feature.
What's great about it: Easy to use, can dig down if desired
What's not so great: What-if scenario didn't work very well

Great Program

I have used Turbo Tax Deluxe for the past 7 or 8 years and never had a problem. This year, one of the forms was giving me a problem and I contacted the TT Support folks and they immediately solved the problem and life is good. Thank you Turbo Tax for making life easier for me.

When blocked from entering data give a hint as to the worksheet where the data should be entered.
