Great, but One Major Flaw

One error was reported in the Federal and one in the state form. Instead of showing the page or part of the page where the error occurred, the name and line number of the form were displayed with blank fields awaiting data. There's know way to find out what the answers should be. There's no context to fix the error. I guessed in one and had to pull up a copy of the form on the internet for the rest of it. This is frustrating and unnecessary. Somehow, the section with the error should be displayed so the person trying to correct his or her errors has some idea what the heck is going on. Please fix this.
What's great about it: Everything worked great, simple, everything broken down.
What's not so great: The Fix Errors system is a disaster

Easy peasy

I waited until today, October 14, to do my taxes - so, here I am at 4 AM finishing my taxes; however, it was so easy with Turbo Tax. A few years ago I was doing all the gathering and organizing my information and then paying a CPA several hundred dollars to plug my numbers in and file it. I figured with my masters in math and doctorate in administration, I could at least do my own taxes and Tax Turbo has been my tool!
What's great about it: The is a real improvement with the smoothness of navigating through my taxes this year.
What's not so great: It isn't a con for Turbo Tax, but the tax codes are horrible.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good tax prep service

I found Turbotax very easy to use. Started using it in 2012. Prior to that the return was prepared by a CPA. I basically do not have any complaints.
Would like to have the capability to input to the worksheets during the year as i get data. Especially deductions.
What's great about it: guided step by step
What's not so great: Would like last years info side by side for comparison.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Used Turbo Tax for years, I will continue to do so.
What's great about it: found deductions I didn't know about
What's not so great: was very difficult to install and retrieve. think it might be windows 8, tho.

Advantagges and Suggestions

Suggested Improvements: I've been doing my own income taxes for over 60 years. I prefer working with the forms (Control 2) and entering data directly. I would like Control 2 to go to Form 1040, not the Info Wks. I use Form 1040 as an index to go to the specific form I want.
Turbo Tax waste a lot of paper. For instance: why not print the Payment of Estimated Tax Voucher two per page instead of 1 per half page.

Helps every time

Seems long and too detailed, but it isn't. Would so like to have a window at the side that shows the form(s) figures are affecting and watch them change as I go. Gets easier each year. Cannot imagine sitting with pieces of paper and booklets surrounding me.
What's great about it: Answers so many questions! Feel very safe using it for years without problems.
What's not so great: Have difficulty importing old Turbo Tax files.
