Makes an unpleasant chore easy

Turbo tax has the best and clearest user interface of any of the tax programs. It's also considerably more expensive than some others. Refund amounts are comparable, at least for my relatively straight-forward finances.
What's great about it: Nice user interface - simple, clear
What's not so great: State filing fee seems high
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I think the only way to make doing your taxes easier than using turbo tax is to have someone else do them for you
What's great about it: turbo tax is, as always, very easy to use, very informative
What's not so great: my taxes went way up this year, not TT's fault, I blame the IRS

Slow

I've used Turbo Tax for 3 years and never had a problem. This year the program ran extremely slow. I lost my place several times and had to reenter information.

Help my taxes prep

I was disappointed with the guidance provided me while filling the state tax for CA. Software did not coach me or provided detailed information when I was filling the tax. Very vague and let me have to "guess" the correct answers.
What's great about it: Pull info directly from bank and previous years returns
What's not so great: Very vague on CA filling instructions

Not Quick an Easy As Before

I didn't understand answers or some of the directions given regarding the options of standard deduction or itemization. It was considerably longer to complete cd version since no past options could be auto-populated. As a Senior I would have appreciated larger print option and more simplified directions (point /select /click/where to get specific info /number on form, which we're given from retirement office, clarity on using withdrawals from 401k, IRA's, Roth when you're over 65). Perhaps you should consider an edition for middle income Seniors that would address these concerns an others that relate to us.
What's great about it: Informs you of updates gives access to forms needed to file.Provided USVI filer option and assistance with deductions
What's not so great: Not made for dummies anymore, complicated directions cd takes you to internet site to answer questions unsatisfactory
