Added cost and inability of software to not show unnecessary or inapplicable deductions make the software unfriendly.
What's great about it: Easy to use/navigate
What's not so great: too many exceptions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Great Easy Accurate Software

I have done taxes professionally for over decades. Since I am no longer doing this, I choose TurboTax for ease of preparing and how toughly they have put this program together. This makes it easy for the most difficult of taxes. The only issue I would suggest is to make a search box at the top for quick access to forms, instead of a 3-4 step process. This is the most accurate program I have used (including some professional ones at tax stores). I love it, and love even more that you have the capability of more then one filing per purchase of the product, and e-filing is free!!

WOULDNT EFILE STATE!!

Due to specific circumstances with my federal, I had to mail it. Program would not allow State to be efiled, as is required in NY, but I didn't realize it didn't efile until the next day. What the heck is this????? The option is there but the program wont allow it to happen. Why my 0 tax situation required me to mail the federal in the first place is incomprehensible and I resent the inconvenience and frustration. This is the first year I have been unsatisfied with the performance and use of TurboTax.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: TAXES ARE LATE NOW

Understand that next year we'll have to use premier, not deluxe?
What's great about it: Went into proper level of detail
What's not so great: Had several blank fields in forms that should have automatically been filled. Came in as errors; manually inserted data

Love Turbo Tax program

I have used Turbo Tax for the past few years and will continue to use year after year. It is easy and tells you where to find the information needed. If you have a question or get stuck, no worries they will help you. I can do my taxes in the privacy of my home and then e-file both my State and Federal when finished. I absolutely love this and have recommended it to several friends.
What's great about it: The Ease of filing and the help you get when needed
What's not so great: O can say nothing bad about this program. I think it is easy and wonderful.

Poor help with deductions

Your guidance of how to take a deduction for multiple meals contributed and provided for homeless families of the Family Promise of Lawton, Inc., and multiple meals we provided and contributed for ministry events at the Cameron Campus Ministry, Inc., and multiple meals we contributed and provided for church events at Centenary United Methodist Church for your and ministry events there was no effective and reasonable way to take that deduction. We have receipts for purchase of food and supplies for several contributions in each instance.
